Only 6 people in a pod taxi while 4-6 lakh people come for work in BKC, so how many pod taxis would be used? this would be of not much use, they should implement Metro as soon as possible
The Heathrow pods are running or can run at 2 second headways or some 1800 pods per hour. At 6 people per pod that's 10,800 people per direction per hour. Over 3 hours that's over 30,000 people from Bandra and another 30,000 from Kurla or roughly 15% of the 4 lakh you mention and these people are riding directly or almost directly to their destination. That's going to be substantially better than any alternative and we're talking just one shift. Add in a second or even a third shift and the numbers look even better. Nevermind the visitors during the day will have quicker access to these offices too giving us a potential one way inbound of 1 lakh per day. There are no technical reasons why these pods can not run at shorter headways of 1 or even 0.5 seconds increasing the capacity to 3600 or 7200 pods per hour. They have a lot of potential that will shine in this project.
2 metro lines are under construction.. Pod taxis are for last mile connectivity from metro station to your BKC office location eg. Income tax dept to G block. So relax... Kaam to hone do.. This project too will take 5-6 years
Soon Mumbai will see taxi and auto rickshaw protest against podtaxi and local political parties like Ut-SS CON and NCon will support those protest because they are not in power do everything to stop those development. Environmental activists join them in protests with Bollywood stars. 😂😂😂

The idea of pod is to replace the buses ... Roads can't be expanded... Metro is already reaching there .. and the map of pod shown in video makes sense that it have multiple routes and stops ...not easier to achieve with metro ... When I used to work in BKC during 2014-16 I used to wonder why Government is not constructing Metro line between Bandra East to Kurla West because while returning it used to take one hour to reach Kurla West Station from Income Tax Office BKC due to traffic and Signals

Well the idea is good but, Instead of making these taxies small for just 6 people. This project is indeed a need of an hour, I used to travel to BKC to atlas SkillTech university, had to take the train sometimes as college used to be at peak hour morning traffic times and it would take me hours to drive there, so I used to take fully packed local train, but the struggle never ended there as so mentioned well that there is very inadequate infrastructure, the station is completely surrounded by slums, Rickshaw drivers used to only let me sit if I agree to pay the amount they ask for and not my meter and after paying the amount, because of so much Jam Pack traffic it used to take me almost 40 mins to reach there, I hope that this project just don't end up on papers and actually is constructed, and the government should not keep the fair of this pod taxis very cheap, they should be at a minimal but an affordable price so that decent crowd gets in and government can also earn from it.
Monorail was white elephant because it was run by the wrong people. The Monorail has now been integrated with the Metro operations by MMRDA , they replaced the earlier staff with new set of people, and it's doing much better.

What is reqd is a simple underground thing. A modern airconditioned pedestrian subway with a travelator from bandra to kurla station via BKC .
