The "village" is blessed and happy. The greatness of African American modern music cannot be rivaled by any art form.Charnett Moffett is a giant as are all the rest.
Man,They were Killing It, and Charnett was giving that Bass a Taste!!🎻 That was outstanding musician ship. R. I.P. McCoy,Bobby, and Charnett. A job well done!🙏🏾🎹🎻🎹🥁👏🏾👏🏾
I caught Charnett playing alongside Courtney Pine, Cyrus Chestnut and Codaryl Moffett here in Houston. The energy was just as high as it is playing with with the legends Hutch and McCoy. He will be missed.
Quel souvenir, quel concert, j'étais même à la balance :-) et surtout, je n'aurais pas imaginé écouter une version live de "African Village" enregistrée en 1968. C'était grandiose !!!
Yeah, the spirits are dancing in African villages all over the world, including those in cities across the globe. This is an ancestral jolt masquerading as secular music.
Correction...... Charnett Moffett.. But why is Charnett apparently swaying back and forth all the timeon his upright bass..... ?? --Is he pissed (drunk) ..??? :))
African charge head on. Taking no prisoners. Wonderful playing by all musicians. Charnettt breaking waves with that bass, paving the way for his comrades. Freedom here we come. BLM.
Great stuff ... sounds rather like Mc Coy's Sama Layuca album from 1974 without an inspired saxophonist to weave a charm through Mc Coys deft improvisations !
The original recording of this, with Freddie Waits on drums, Herbie Lewis bass, McCoy and Bobby is from about 1968 on Time for Tyner and it KILLS... nothing more needed...it is much tighter ensemble work than this and comes through as solid as Sama Layuca....it is brilliant. This is live.. I have heard McCoy do this live a number of times and it is not as rich as the original recording. But hey, I still love it..
This is the most magnificient piece of music I have ever heard. I am blessed that these titans graced the earth with their musicality. Thank you, All.

The most modern upright bass player, I've heard so far ...
Charnette Moffet, son of Ornette Coleman's drummer. Fantastic bass player.
Charnette Moffett...
Correction...... Charnett Moffett.. But why is Charnett apparently swaying back and forth all the timeon his upright bass..... ?? --Is he pissed (drunk) ..??? :))
Charnett Moffett was with McCoy and Bobby at jazz alley. He's the son Ornette Coleman's drummer, I think. Powerful musician.
no he's not drunk. he's engaged
WOAH!!
Isso é simplesmente espetacular!
C·est fou !!! du haut niveau ....
Lamento anunciar que Mc Coy Tyner falleció hoy a los 81 años. Descansa en paz...

Sounds like Mc Coy's "Time for Tyner" African village, blue note album recorded in May 1968, with Mc Coy, Bobby Hutcherson and rythm section

What does Tim listen to? Part 2.
I want to know which African village that he is talking about......?? -- Is it perhaps the village just after the ZEBRA CROSSING.... ?? :)
what year was this recorded?
About 2005 or 2006, I believe. Saw them with a diff drummer in Seattle, at Jazz Alley, about then. They sounded like this! That was incredible!
Pharoah Sanders influence
still love it!!
