  • Radio interview with jazz vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson by Dan McClosky in 1971. (Note: the music has been removed from this upload due to copyright requests. The actual radio show was 57 minutes long, including the music.) Bobby was a master musician and composer who ranks up there at the very top of his craft along with Lionel Hampton and Milt Jackson. He was extremely influential to other up-and-coming vibraphonists and jazz musicians in general. He played with joy and passion and it came through on his recordings and live performances. He passed away at age 75 in 2016 and left a huge legacy of absolutely outstanding recordings. He made 45 records as a bandleader and 250 records as a sideman. He worked with major jazz luminaries including Herbie Hancock, Jackie McLean, Dizzy Gillespie, Eric Dolphy, McCoy Tyner, just to name a few.
