You can more accurately set the cut out since its digital, set an anti short cycle or make a huge differential so customer will know something is wrong, but unit won't short cycle unit as bad. Hmm. A smart auto reset pressure control that pays attention to system behavior. Rapid pressure rise indicates complete fan failure or full airflow blockage. Moderate rise indicates partial fan failure or very dirty condenser. Gradual rise indicates excessive ambient temps and/or mildly dirty condenser. Add an ambient temp probe to reduce nuisance tripping. Allowing more resets when pressure takes a while to trip and ambient is high, but if the fan is locked up and pressure spikes quickly, will cut it off after three attempts. Perhaps even a longer scale secondary auto reset where it will try again in an hour once or twice before a hard lock out.
    The issue is how cheaply made refrigeration control electronics have become. Under-specced parts and sloppy designs intended to fail rapidly, but still sold for hundreds of dollars wholesale.

    I believe it’s this video that towards the beginning I see you equalizing the pressures with your gauges. I do that all the time, but with appliances.
    Do you think it’s really a concern to have liquid refrigerant flowing into the low side, probably into the compressor when you equalize?
    I hear people say it will cause the oil to fizz up and cause the compressor to not get adequate lubrication, but who know? Are people really watching a compressor operate with a see through frame, probably not, but I hope so.

    • @HappilyHomicidalHooligan
      @HappilyHomicidalHooligan Месяц назад +2

      Glycol is anti-freeze, it lowers water's freezing point so you can cool the pipes used to move beer from the kegs to the dispensing taps at the bar...in a lot of bars, the beer cooler room is a LONG way away from the bar taps so the lines running under the floor need to be kept cool, so when the beer lines are installed, glycol lines are run in the same conduit to keep them cool.
      Ethelyne-Glycol is what you mix with water in your car radiator to keep it from freezing in winter...

    Wait...Chris isn't always perfect? Since when?...
    If you're using a drill as a driver, there are angled hex-drive adapters available that will work on any drill. This will at least enable the drill to be offset by 90 degrees. also, they can be bought very cheaply and are available in different physical sizes. You could easily carry a couple as they're so cheap and use one for the awkward situations. They may not be quite as straightforward and a driver directly fitted to the drill but it could get you through a situation in less time, enabling you to spend more time on the bigger picture and be more perfect again...
