My cissus discolor and I didn’t start off on the right foot. We fought… she ignored my pleas, I didn’t listen to her needs and wants. And I wanted us to be friends, I really did, but she made me work for it and she had to show me that it was worth it. Fast forward 2 years later. We’re finally friends and understand one another. Yes, she’s still a bougie @ss diva but I’ve learned to listen to her and she’s learned to be patient with me. My point of this is once you get their care down, the hard work is very much worth it. These are beautiful, dainty, elegant plants that bring a unique beauty and vibe into your home.
Came here for cissus care, stayed for the garden tour - straight outta my dreams 😍😍😍
I love you talking up the plant like a beautiful celebrity on the red carpet!
I just saw this yesterday at the greenhouse where I shop. Beautiful...glorious and hanging. Long vines. Breathtaking. Decided to leave it where it is. So tempted to bring it home, but spending that much on this when I don't know if I can grow it??? They only had the one. Stunning plant. Your is gorgeous, and your garden, lovely. Shalom
Oh my word, what lovely plants
Absolutely breathtaking garden. I would be in heaven waking up to that each day
I loved the rainy garden tour. It was so relaxing! 😌
Thanks it was a last minute idea to film during the rain...but viewing it later I did find it very relaxing as well and love how it came out. I plan on doing more videos like this set to music. Thanks for your feedback and so glad you liked it! 🤗❤️👍
Wow , what a beautiful plants you had , truly love them all see later
OMG...Yes, I have found the magic formula for my home, and it wasnt much. I have this growing in a north facing window in a hanging basket. I bought it as 2 strands about 2 feet long, it is now almost 8 feet long!!! Beautiful!! I water once or twice a week with an orchid fertilizer with added Cal Mag
That is awesome and job well done. Curious to know what state or country so you live? Mine is growing like a weed as well but I keep my outdoors. Thanks for watching and HAPPY GROWING!
@@PictureMaria1 I am in South Jersey, not far from Philadelphia, PA. I have it on the third floor of my home, which by design, stays warmer and more humid than the rest of the house, even though my house has central air. Our summers are really humid and hot.I had no idea this plant was supposedly hard to keep until I watched your video. It is beautiful. Would you be willing to do trades or sales? Your garden is beautiful. My husband wants to move to South Florida at some point, girl I would be no more good!! lol Anyway, I am looking for a pink princess cutting, that's why I ask.
Very much enjoyed the garden tour. Your plants look so green & healthy. That plant is very pretty. I like the patterns on the leaves. Thank you for sharing... Happy growing.
That’s definitely a stunning plant and I’m glad it is now giving you more leaves after all. So nice and relaxing to see your beautiful garden. I love looking at the the plants specially after it rains. Your plants are getting so big and happily growing. I love them all!👌🌱🌿💐💞😘
Yes, it is! I love it sooooooo much! It took me forever to finally get a hold of it so you can imagine how terrified I was to witness almost all of the leaves drying up and falling off. I almost cried! It is relaxing when it rains in my garden. I added an umbrella for me to be able to sit outside when it rains lightly. Sometimes I almost fall asleep it is so peaceful. Perhaps one day I will bring a long bench outside where I can take little naps. LOL! I am proud of how far my plants have come and consider it a very successful grow season and I have thoroughly enjoyed them during quarantine and these moments of crisis. They have been my peace within the storm and I am so blessed to have them. I am hoping all is well with you dear friend and am hoping your family and your plant babies are all well. HAPPY GROWING!
I was lucky to get one in NJ a few months ago & have been keeping it outside....loves the heat & humidity! Grew like crazy.....I ordered one online last fall....it survived in my plant room but it appears to go dormant in the winter....my observation. I’m currently propagating 2 small vines, 1 in a propagation box with sphagum, the other in water. Fingers crossed!!
I loved the intermission where we were able to see your plants. It looks like a rainforest!!! So awesome! Wellllllll....I made an impulse purchase and bought a cissus discolor today. I reallllllly wish I had watched your video first. My plant is absolutely gorgeous, it has purple shading down the middle of the leaf....That said, I’m afraid this might not make it at my house. I don’t do well with fussy plants!
Rain intermission was just WOW, WOW, WOW.
WOW!! Came for help with cissus care, but was beautifully distracted by your epic garden! 😍
Awwwwss thank you! I appreciate that. I am so glad that you found me. YAAAAAY! I am hoping you visit often. HAPPY GROWING!
4th comment! Yay! I love this plant and it is thriving out in KY heat and humidity this summer and I can testify to how thirsty she is. I am concerned about humidity when I bring her in...I will start thinking about it now. Then came your intermission. I have to tell you, Maria, omg! The rain and your beautiful plant with the lovely music choice was mesmerizing. I could take a video of just that...maybe at the end of the season to show off all their growth. Thanks for the content. Happy Growing!
YAAAAAAAAY!!! This plant is just superb and beautiful from any angle that you look at it from! Yes, I too am dreading having to bring her in for the winter but she will not survive the cold outdoors. I will be using a humidifier for sure. I am hoping that before this grow season ends I will have some propagated babies to ensure survivability. Keep your fingers crossed for me and I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. I loved how the intermission part turned out and plan on doing more videos set to music. Thanks for the feedback and for suggesting. HAPPY GROWING! 🤗❤️👏❤️👍
I love this plant.
ME TOO! IT IS MY ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITES! Thanks so much for watching and HAPPY GROWING!
So glad to hear that mine still has a chance. Mine dropped ALL the leaves after I got it. Devastated didn't even come close to describing my feelings.
Same. Mine didn't have far to ship so it came out of the box growing great. It's now taking over my greenhouse :D :D :D I love it and the wild look.
Mine is on a pole but its outgrown the pole and is attaching itself to everything inside of the greenhouse. Litterally crawling up the plastic walls.
HA HA HA! That is so awesome to hear!!! What type of lighting are you giving it and are you providing it extra humidity? I love these so much for how fast they can grow it is unbelievable! I am glad that you are able to grow it so well as they are such beautiful plants to have! HAPPY GROWING AND CONGRATS!!!
I love my cissus. But me and it struggled to start with too. But now she is growing new leaves. Thanks for sharing.
I am glad that it is now throwing off new leaves for you. Did you have to do anything different to it while it was struggling? What conditions are you providing it now?
@@PictureMaria1 Me too. I had to give it more humidity and make sure the soil doesn't get to dry. Yours is so beautiful. 💚
Your gardens absolutely breath taking!
Love your video and all your plants there. Beautiful ! ! !
Loved the intermission 💚
The rain made the whole video better! 😄🌿💚🌿🕺🏽
Ha ha ha!!!! RIGHT!!! Never knew how much the rain could enhance the video!!! I will definitely start taking advantage of the rainy weather...even the rain can’t rain on our parade!!! 🤗🤗🤗
Heyyyyyyy Maria...i love your garden. Like paradise. I do have a siscus discolor and i so njoy watching it grow... so fast indeed. The leaves are gorgeous indeed. Can't wait for mine to reach your capacity.
Hey there Dionne and thank you. My little garden retreat is my pride and joy. ...and the Cissus Discolor is such a marvelous plant! So glad to hear that your is growing wonderfully for you! Once it hits its growth spurt it will take over in no time!!! It’s a very exciting plant! I just love it! Enjoy yours and thanks for watching!
I was amazed at the difference moving mine outside made. It survived until winter indoors, but producing misshapen and tiny leaves. In the TX freeze it lost all leaves and died back to the woody part of the vine. Now it’s probably 8ft long with multiple growths. Just since coming back in late March.
It’s a gorgeous plant! 😍💚 I love the burgundy stems too. 😃 I haven’t seen them in my area. Love the rainy footage, your plants are big an beautiful, love the Hoya Princes going up the tree! 😍💚
Yes, it is one of my absolute faves! Everything about it is beautiful. It has been a very difficult plant for me to get a hold of and is why I had to order it online and am committed to getting this to grow and thrive under my care. ...and the Hoya Crimson Princess is so beautiful climbing up the tree. I am so happy I mounted her and can’t wait to see it cover the tree!
MY Tropical Plant Adventures It’s gonna be gorgeous 🙌🏽😃

My fav plant....😍😍😍at last i got it
YAAAAAAAAAAY! CONGRATULATIONS! It is so well worth having! I am hoping you enjoy it just as much as I do! Happy Growing and have a Plantastic day!
Wow thank you so much for that video!! I live in Scotland and got a cissus during winter last year - I order it from the Netherlands... it arrived with 3 leaves that fall down after a few days. I was so sad and could tell the vine was drying up, so in a desperate attempt to bring back the plant I place the bare vine in leca with a layer of moss at the top, and hoped for the best. 6 months later and I have 5 points of growth! it grows like there's no tomorrow, I think semi hydro is perfect for this type of plant as I can keep the moisture levels up without worrying to much about root rot and I can see exactly how fast the plant is drinking. What I am so afraid of is winter's coming, I do have a big humidifier in the room to keep the humidity high but I can only hope for the best. BTW any advice for propagation? I was thinking of cutting the vine and place it horizontally on a moss or perlite bed, do you think it would work?
I am so glad to hear how well your Cissus is doing! Thanks for sharing the way you have rescued and are currently growing them now. I would never thought to grow it in Leca. I too am a bit worried about the winter season and growing it indoors. I will be using a humidifier to aid it a long. Let us both keep our fingers crossed for its survival. The best way I have heard to propagate this is in a sealed container or bag containing moistened sphagnum moss. Thanks for watching all the way from Scotland and I am wishing you the absolute best! HAPPY GROWING!
Your space is gorgeous! I just got 2 of these beauties (one is a total rescue).
Putting them right by a humidifier and diffuser.
Thank you so much! This is one that you have to pay close attention to...because when she is not happy she can be downright suicidal! 😳 I took her indoors for the winter and she cussed and fussed the whole time dropping majority of her leaves. Her vine is practically bare now. The weather has started warming up so I brought her back outside and she has started to perk up a little bit. I am so hoping she developed lots more vines to make up for all of the leaves she lost. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I am also hoping that both of yours do well for you. I am glad you got the humidifier to assist in keeping them happy. Best of wishes and thanks so much for watching! HAPPY GROWING!
Love your rainforest. 💕🌹
Thank you, my garden has really grew up into my tropical escape getaway...it’s like a free vacation! LOL! 😂🤣🤗
Do you ever offer clippings from your Monstera Albo?
Yes I have one I ordered it right after your video on when you first got yours. I got it from Eldons too I have mine under a grow light set for 12 hours of light mist it with distilled water. I water with rain water and distilled water but have yet to fertilize it yet. With it being indoors what number on my moisture meter would you recommend it to stay?
I need you to come and help me place my plants in my garden 😍 love your Jungle 😍
LOL!!! Someone mentioned awhile ago that I should get into garden designing...who knows one day I may give it ago...Thanks for your vote of confidence! Happy Growing!
Hi do you sell cuttings from your monstera plant that show on your video i also live on Florida.
By the way beautiful garden
I have just rescued that plant from my sister. I had a small piece. Now I will be working with her sad plant.
The best of luck to you! I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Let me know how it works out. HAPPY GROWING!
Do you ever get yellow lumps on the topside of the leaves? I'm on my second one and it's doing it. With my first, I suspected pests. But now the exact same thing is happening a year later 😭 I just want a beautiful cissus
I have had mine for 3 months and the base has lost a lot of leaves but the vines are thriving. Any suggestions? I live in So Fl. Ty
My mom had these in Jamaica I have vivid memories of her love & gushing ways about all her 🌱. Tell me how you deal with all the lizards so many varieties & sizes.
I’ve got some green nodules on some of my plants leaves. I’m a new plant mom & I really don’t want to lose her. I’ve inquired on line & some say it’s not going to hurt the plant. Others say it’s some sort of mite. Please help me!
Skip to 7:24 and 13:15 for actual growing information
Does Mr. Young know you are going around smooching plants with your eyes closed? I'm tellin'! Like the walk thrus! A drive by blooming!
HA HA HA!!! No he doesn’t! I fear if he knew he would call them people with the white jackets to come get me!!! 😂 😆 😝 Yes, Drive by blooming!!! Love it! I will be doing more videos like this.
Why do they lose leaves and some stem? I got mine about 2 week ago and it is starting to do that too! I'm very worried because I love this plant! Is there anything I can do to prevent that? I'm sure I need to give it time to acclimate but I'm worried it will completely die
when mine gets bright light, the middle becomes really purple instead of super dark green. but when its gloomy for several days, the leaves lose their purple colors on top.
I don’t understand how a plant that grows so fast is so hard to get. I’ve been searching for a few different plants, including that one, and they are either sold out or expensive on line or I just can’t find them in any stores near me. I will be patient and someday I will find one. Heck, I waited and searched around 2 years for a chain of hearts and finally came across one at a flower shop that typically mostly sells cut flowers.
Don’t I know the feeling!!! This plant was sooooooo difficult for me to find!!! Many people have stated the same thing also. I eventually had to order mine through eBay. I am glad you were able to find your string of hearts where you least expected it. It must have been such an awesome and wonderful surprise! I am hoping also that you are able to find a Cissus Discolor they really are amazing and so well worth it! I smile every time I see her...and I swear it looks like she smiles right back at me! 🤗🤗🤗🤗 Thanks for watching and HAPPY GROWING!
MY Tropical Plant Adventures Yes, my daughter was with me and my jaw just about hit the floor and I could hardly get my purse open fast enough to snatch it up. I went to my local nursery today and asked about a few plants. They didn’t even know what a cissus discolor was. I think I will make a list of plants for them of some plants I would love to get my hands on and maybe they can find some of them for me. They said they usually start getting more indoor plants in in the fall. Keep up the great content and videos and HAPPY GROWING to you too 😁
Am i the only one experiencing problems with upright phone volume, but the left speaker seems okay in landscape? Anyway, cant stop me from watching your vids about plants hahahaha.
Ps love that plant!! Wondering where i can get it in my country tho hahahha
Sorry you were having volume issues. It may be the mic I was using while filming...there was so much noise issues going on around me and I am sure the rain didn’t help any at all. Thanks for enduring the craziness. This is a plant that is difficult to find in my area and is why I had to order it online. I am also hearing of many people having issues of getting a hold of one as well. I am hoping you are able to get one. They really are well worth having! Thanks so much for joining me on my adventures and HAPPY GROWING!
How long did your plant take to bounce back after you received it? Just got 1 in the mail and its leaves are super limp 😔
Would appreciate any feedback/tips.
It took about a month before I started noticing new growth. It’s a plant that doesn’t like to go dry and does exceedingly well with good humidity and bright light. If you can provide those things for it, it should be able to bounce back. Best wishes to you and your Cissus.
Oh boy. Its gonna be a long month for this helicopter plant mom. Thanks for the tips !
Keep the faith...yours may bounce back sooner. Keep in mind mine did not fare to well with the shipping experience and lost majority of her leaves and even pieces of her vine so she had to recover big times! I hope yours does better than mine.
What vine is at 10:44 mark? : )
Mam I'm from India,kerala... Wood you like wild Orchid...
New to this channel. First impression, you kinda sound like a car salesman.
Mine is almost dead
I killed this plant in like 2 weeks
OH NO!!! I am so sorry to hear that. What happened and were you growing indoors or outdoors?
MY Tropical Plant Adventures outdoors
I grow mine outdoors too but we have high humidity here especially in my garden. I have found also that this plant does not tolerate a lot of neglect. If you allow it to go bone dry it can really suffer and sometimes will not bounce back.
