I never remove the springs. Those springs are there for a reason. I compare my work to others who remove them and my lap marks are always smaller. If those small springs make it harder for you, then hit the gym. Thanks for the video guys!
Naw -Those springs serve no purpose but to create a burp when the box is approaching empty and you try to get one last band run before filling. Take'em off. If you want to prove your strength, run your mud a tad thicker. The box will finish cleaner. And the mud won't shrink between coats.
hello, it would be really good for many users to make a video to show how to adjust the two small parts on each side of the blade. I have two boxes that I received not adjusted and impossible to obtain a satisfactory result ,Thank you for your help!
Adjusted based on personal preference? Don't you put a straight edged broad knife up to the filled band or butt joint and check the fill? On bands, If it is still hollow, you open the box more. If you are humping the bands, you close the box down until it is just flat. On butt joints you check whether the joint is hollow (concave) or whether the butt joint is crowned. That determines whether you fill the butt joint down the center, when concave. And with how much mud. Or whether split it out to either side of the tape to level and hopefully hide the crowned joint.
A little thinner than corner bead mud for the fill coat. Although not too thin. Maybe even a tiny bit thinner yet for finish coat. The mud needs to be thin enough to push through the long but narrow hole. But needs to be thick enough and enough body to not fall out of the box.
Hey there! It's hard to put a number to sanding, but the point of these tools is precision in terms of laying down the mud so that very minimal sanding needs to be done in comparison to taping by hand. I hope that helps!
I have a novice question, I removed my popcorn ceiling and have to skim coat the entire ceiling. The problem is I'm horrible at skim coating my wife could probably do a better job. Can I cover a entire ceiling with a flat box?
I just put together a couple boxes using Pelican Vault V700 and V800 gun cases to hold my drywall tools....have a look here ....drive.google.com/folderview?id=1KBhvatMfJBW_GZYnLnauwdB2XSfmVP56
I bought finishing boxes from Columbia. No doubt about the quality, but they where not set up correctly. Such a disappointment after spending sooooo much money.

When would a 7" box be used?

Do you do the shorts first or the long ones first?
Long joints first. We call them flats here in west Canada.
WHAT IS FUCTION OF WIPER USED IN FLAT BOXEX.
How thick do you mix the mud for first and second coats. ??

You can see a youtube video exactly on that related to level 5 product, same thing apply here
