I bought a bf-f8+ I was wondering what kind of extended battery I should get because I heard some of the extended batteries for baofeng radios don’t work interchangeably.
    PLS HELP

Lol I had the same problem. Lots of videos on how to get the language menu from Chinese. I haven't had luck with my usb cable or the driver CD it came with . The software is junk.

whats the theoretical maximum range for these ?

If its two poeple standing on flat ground both using vhf or uhf radios like this one at head height then the maximum range is about 5 miles or 8km no matter the power, this is because of the curvature of the earth.
If one person is standing on a 100m tall hill or had a really tall aerial then the maximum range is more like 35km.
Radios like HF or shortwave radios work beyond the horizon and much further because they use frequencies below 2ghz that reflect off of the atmosphere and back down again beyond the horizon.
