You're right. Most shouldn't get into o/o because most new drivers are looking for a quick and easy lick. However, historically, businesses that begin and survive in an economic downturn have a greater chance of survivability. Last thing, being an o/o is supposed to be hard y'all youngbuls came in believing that its supposed to come easy. You're starting an independent enterprise with great financial responsibilities pitfalls gains and freedoms...its supposed to be hard.

I’ve ran hazmat tanker for a year and I plan on doing the same as an owner opp leased on to a company. Hopefully it will be lucrative.

As slow as freight is right now, and I’ve seen a lot of trucking company go to business I do not think this is a good time to be an owner operator. You’re truly a company driver.

Money is shit and you are away from your family. Even I as a local driver I feel I need to find a new path in life. They will slave you out and the money doesn't often justify the effort.

If you want to become an owner operator at this point it'd be better to put your truck onto a carrier that already has contracts that way you'll get constant loads. The load boards is NOT where its at stay away from those. Especially stay away from TQL

No one liked or commented lol..I definitely respect everyone’s opinion on the current state of trucking, but I have never seen so many people wanting to talk and be negative, some don’t even know what they’re talking about..but hey that’s trucking for ya right, everyone’s a expert

TQL does suck. Every time I’ve spoken to them they say they always have someone on the other line offering something lower or if there is some detail you ask about that they don’t have an answer for then they are quick to hang up on you.
The first thing brokers ask for is your MC# when you book from the loadboard. They check your age instantly. The other part where I lose out on loads is that I have to fill out their carrier packet and someone else gets the load. I have many packets filled out now for loads I didn’t get..

Still distractions, but whatever works for you. We always says, if only! You know how truck drivers are always in the wrong regardless. So you shouldn't give them one more think to regulate. Just a thought, you can do it when you're stationary.

Money is there, you wrestle with Dispatch/Shipper for CPM owner/trucking company. The lowest slave .89 - $2.50 cpm bankruptcy owners and Yellows trucking LLC. Many truckers have one job. The smartest RUclips JustTruckin he 2 used semi truck, one concrete and one dry trailer loads. Drying low price CPM loads, he haul concrete. When loads and concrete is dry…he taxi Uber.
