I am in the process of having one framed for my dining room. I’ve had the print rolled up in a tube in a closet for many years! I have a clipper ships model in my living room I found as a decorator piece which is fashioned after an actual ship. My taste is a mixture of masculine and feminine. I LOVE the room, the furnishings, the crystal, the silver trays, the walls. MOST especially I LOVE what was done to the chairs-they are simply fabulous.....
The attic room is just stunning and with the placement of pictures, one forgets that the bookshelf is off centre. To be true to the Maritime theme, the crystal decanter should be a ships decanter. Ships Decanters were used on many a voyage from the old country. The sturdy wide base would keep it from tipping and rolling around the Captain's table as the ship was tossed at sea. Perhaps the one you now have could eventually go in your dining room and the more authentic ships decanter could continue the nautical theme in the attic.
Guys, I realize this is a year late, but don’t stress it too much. Remember, the beauty of these old cottages is their imperfections. It just adds to the charm. You got this 😉
I like Sarah’s idea of adding a bronze or bronze-like barometer somewhere. Maybe on a shelf. A lighthouse figurine would also be nice on the bottom shelf between the books and the case.

I think you should rename the attic the sanctuary, it's the prefect get away surrounding you with things you love after a tiring day...even tho it is an office as well. The art is stunning together, really is lovely, the whole room is.
