Cobray Terminator - parts assembly and shooting

- Recently, I picked up on of the worst shotguns ever invented and I decided I needed to take it apart because the gun was filthy and all the lubricant had dried up. That's where my problems began. The breech WOULD NOT come loose. Years of neglect by the previous owner and zero lubrication left it frozen in place. I soaked the rear in penetrating oil for a couple of days, that did nothing. I got frustrated and used a big wrench and oops, that left a couple of marks. So I did the thing I didn't want to do...I broke out the torch. I heated up the rear part and hit it about 100 times with a plastic head mallet and then, miraculously, the breech came free. I don't know if it was just dried lube or red loctite, but now it moves freely and it has fresh CherryBalmz lube. The original finish is slightly messed up, but I am happy it moves and I can clean and inspect it without any more issues!
Shooting it is a different story. Its fun to shoot....once maybe twice. After that its just torture. I bruised my shoulder shooting this gun only a few times, but it was worth it.
Have a question, drop it down below.
And check out my other Cobray videos!
i love how brutally simple this gun is - tubes, springs and high hopes.
This video is a life saver. As you know I scored a terminator in bad shape missing a bunch of parts and I was lucky enough to find the missing parts from our friends down in TN, if it weren’t for this video, I would’ve never known exactly which parts I needed to get in the first place, the manual does not have a schematic. Thank you for sharing this.!
So you're the one buying all the parts!!! >:(
I would like a spare barrel for a future project.
@@DirtyHandsRob that’s one thing I didn’t get, but I may need one if I can’t clean all the rust off this one, I believe there may be a few of the barrels.
@@SnakePlissken-wt6sc I asked today actually and was told there are no barrels, but a few small parts.
If you can get a barrel, hit me up.
Plz.
K, thnx.
You never know what you are going to find a garage sales. Picked up a Cobray Terminator about a month ago.
WHAT?!? Shut up, no way! I've looked at gun shows and yard sales forever and have never found anything that cool.
May I ask what you paid? GB seems high for what it is.
@@DirtyHandsRob 280
@@kenfriedland4603 WOW. Good find.
I made a 12 gauge shotgun in the same way in 1988. Also, the barrel rolled onto a fixed striker. Of course, there were differences, I didn’t have a stock and the barrel was about two times shorter.
That's cool!
These are actually kinda cool. It'd probably be better in some smaller gauge like 20 or 28 gauge
That is the coolest POS gun ever!!!! I WANT ONE!
Yea, definitely. Fun to shoot, especially watching newbs.
My receiver was missing the sling swivel… I got lucky and I happened to have a spare one of those mini strap hangers with the offset Cobray logo. Those originally came on the SWD M11A1 380 SMG. Cobray was notorious for repurposing parts to use them up and save on production costs. That little mini 380 captive style strap hanger is impossible to find, and I’m lucky I happened to have one in my parts box, my terminator build is 100% complete now.
That's awesome!
Muy explicativo el vídeo, saludos desde Chile
¡gracias por ver!
Thanks for the comment and thanks to Google translate for helping me understand it. Lol.
The 'Lady's Home Companion' is still my favourite Cobray shotgun but this was really cool.
The firing pin design was a neat idea, may want to put a drop of molly grease to keep'er from running too proud of the breech, any problems with back pressure pushing out 209 primers?
The 4 sharing bro👍
I think the LHC is out of my price range for the foreseeable future. LOL! But I'd love to shoot one at least once.
I put a small bit of blue locktite on the firing pin. I'll have to see how it works. When I was doing the test firing at the end of this video, I noticed the firing pin was working it's way forward.
I plan on doing another video showing the primers of the Terminator, Street Sweeper and Serbu Super Shorty. I'll get that done some day......
Thanks for hanging around!
excenlente trabalho, respect from brazil
Thanks!
Saludos
I want one of those pretty bad!
They are surprisingly well built and sort of heavy, but can easily bruise a shoulder with several shots. It does turn heads at the range and garners lots of questions.
Any chance you'd post the non sped up video of the assembly? I just ordered one of these and I'll likely need to clean mine out as well. Cool video either way!
It's actually pretty straight forward. I mean, it's a Cobray and it could have been made in a garage.
If you see in the video, my breech WOULD NOT move. I had to use lots of heat to get it removed. I ended up scratching it really bad, but now it comes apart!
So be prepared for a stuck/hard to remove breech. Also the barrel is under spring pressure, so be mindful of that.
If you need help, just let me know.
@@DirtyHandsRob Cool, thanks! The only bit that was kinda hard to follow was the trigger assembly, it looked somewhat fiddly trying to fit it into the receiver. Hopefully it's easier when seeing it in person.
@@OMGLYKEWOW oh, yea. I remember. The extractor barely fits in there. The pistol grip screw made it hard. I had to fidget it around a lot to get it to work right.
I never did take apart the whole trigger pack. It's not worth it.
@@DirtyHandsRob Right on, thanks for the insight!

В конце 70х пацанами такие делали под 5,6мм
Uh, not sure what you said. Google translate failed me. But thanks for watching!
add a spring stock like the duplet from metro reduce recoil a lot
But the recoil is half the fun! Even better when it happens to other people.
Tem como posta uma vídeo do mecanismo do gatilho
did you experience jams using this shotgun? Do you think that is more dangerous than other shotguns?
Nah, didn't experience any jams and it always fires. It just sucks there's on ejector, so each round has to be removed by hand.
I know this will sound crazy, but on the Terminator the chamber and barrel are pretty thick steel. It's fairly stout. My Street Sweeper on the other hand is really scary looking, but has aluminum chambers and aluminum barrel. So the Street Sweeper would probably have a catastrophic failure before the Terminator.
Great video they say it's a shitty gun I think it's quite ingenious and looks cool as fuck
Thanks for watching the video.
Its surprisingly stout and well built. And yes, I agree - it's cool as fuck.
Hello, dear friend. I want to make this gun. Can you send me the exact dimensions of this gun in the form of a pdf file. Thank you.
Mine is stuck in the safety? How do i get it out
Just to clarify - your barrel is stuck when it's pushed forward to the safety position?
Hmmm, is there anything binding? Did it move forward somewhat freely?
Of course don't do anything until the gun is unloaded and triple checked!
do you still have one and how much, been looking for one for quite awile now.ll neal
They are kinda rare and extra parts are essentially zero. They pop up on GB every so often. Be prepared to open your wallet.
I like it simple and deadly
Yup, really simple. Not rocket science.
Thanks for watching. I'll do more videos some time.
@@DirtyHandsRob i do upgrades on Hdr50 and hdr68 and i can't do many videos how i want because is prohibited in my country what am doing 😕😢
@@DirtyHandsRob 👌🏻
@@noobt4eguns I hear ya. I wish I had a better video editing program, but I'm too cheap to pay for one. Lol.
Keep up the good fight!
@@DirtyHandsRob LOL i love the honest and 100% fair person's.Sorry for my English language i don't speak well 😑
I don't know how to use video editing🙄.But i am good enough on mechanics😉
Это пиздато бро
Спасибо за ваш проницательный ответ.
How to make
I don't know how to make it.
@@DirtyHandsRob ooooh ok
"Parts Assembly and shooting" so you showed the most educational part is fast motion...Why?
Didn't even get a peek at the trigger assembly and how it worked.👎
Feel free to buy your own Terminator and make your own video. It's literally some tubes and springs. It's not made by Aerospace Engineers, but some random dudes from the 80's.
