    you've probably found out by now but just to let you know, yes this macbook does support sata III drives but the optical drive bay connector (I think) is sata ii. If you get a sata iii drive it is safer to install it in the hard drive bay and then install your original hard drive in the optical drive bay given that it will not be using the extra speed of sata iii.

    i would suggest to take out the battery conector from its socket so you dont have any power surges or anything :)

    Hi, can i use a SSD 2.5" Sata III 256Gb in this Mac? Or i have to use the Sata II?
