In a late 2008 unibody 5,1 2ghz I have a seagate 1tb sshd and looking to put 250gb and owc data doubler in optibay. for my specific model, would you put the ssd in the hdd bay or in the data doubler (optibay) On one hand its the SMS and on the other its the SATA speed. But for my specific model what would you say? (btw not a fusion drive) everybody says something diff...

So... your getting rid of the optical drive for a second hard drive? Why not just install a larger hard drive? Or is the optical drive that un necessary?
I have done this data doubler on my macbook 13' late 2008, afterwards my wi-fi no longer works. Although my bluetooth and isight camera still work. It says there is no wi-fi hardware installed. i tried re-installing lion, reset NVRAM / PRAM and checking all cables multiple times nothing works. Anyone knows where the problem might be?

Why wouldn't you put the SSD in the main slot and put the HDD in the replacement slot? Are they both 6 gigabit?

Yes, it does. I have removed the DWD combo drive and installed a Crucial SSD.
