Is actually very much in line to what I said a couple of days ago in a status that horror games can train in retaining calm and rationale in a physically dangerous situation, like a burglar invading your house.
I'm paranoid of gorrila tag vr I got traumatized by statue and ghost now I see hulucinations and hearing things because my dad stood by me once and I keep hearing footsteps so my friend helps me overcome this fear.
Ideally yes but you are bound to the original cameras movement that capture the real life situation. You wouldn't have the ability to move where you wanted which is one of the major key points to make this therapy work. What IS possible in the not so disttant future but is quite labour intensive at the moment is to capture a real life scene like a lift or bus with photogrametry or scanning, scan a group of realife humans and use them as models to the animated. That could work. But yes. this is just he start expect to see much more immersive worlds being built over the next 5 years.
Wouldn't people with paranoia say that this is only VR and that real life is different? Or does it have the potential to make them give up on distinguishing both?
They can't just invent better VR devices, they have to use the hardware that is allready available - and if those military devices are better then Ocuclus or somehow easyier to use then it do not understand what the problem is.
CushionOfWealth give me a break its massive even when compared to all the rest of the vr head sets out there tube train! even in a house this would be to heavy your neck would be toast ultra fast
The gaze of that guy on the right at 2:12 also makes me a little paranoid. :D

Wouldn't it be a lot better to film actual real life situations with a 360 camera, and show that in the headset?

0:37 ... No, paranoia, is not unfounded fear. ... It _could be true_ that folk or someone is trying to harm the sufferer of paranoia, too.
Maybe you should make the headset even bigger. You know, instead of smaller...
