That's rich coming from him because the only reason he died was because he didn't want her to become a vampire lmao. So him saying he loved her no matter what she became but hated her becoming a vampire so much that he would die is so contradicting
If they didn't play the song in this scene i probably wouldn't have cried as much. Edit: even after 4 years of watching this I still cry like a baby.

This show was at its best when it focused on family, not breakups and makeups. I miss moments like this.
But it was never focused on family. It was started as two brothers in love with the same girl.

That's why they should not have killed so many off in the begining if your going to have like 9 seasons you should probably space it out for more storylines especially if its a cw show you need more family moments
this is exactly why i prefer the originals, whilst the vampire diaries could have had better actors, better relationships, which imo it didn’t anyways but even so, it was the originals focused on the bond of family that made it superior to tvd which was about a silly love triangle
Alyssa Long Yeah but it is mostly all about family, Elena was so sad when all her family died that they spent 3 episodes on Elena turning her humanity off because of how broken she was with no family, they spent a whole season on fighting with Damon’s and Stefan mum and then she died and Stefan was so sad and of course Stefan and Damon act like they hate each other but in the end, they showed their love for each other.
I forgot, how good TVD was in the First Three Seasons.

That entire section of letter is filmed over Damon and Elena for that reason. Damon would rather she be a vampire than die. His character isn't written to trust an elixir that's never been tested. He has a hard time trusting to begin with. And I don't think John would've trusted the elixir either. Elijah himself said it may not work. Elena didn't care. John and Damon ensured her survival.

Jenna and Liz Forbes deaths were the worst in my opinion. I know that some people may say what about Stefan’s but he found peace with Lexi and went quick, he also had a really long time to live unlike those 2

@@evelynn7355 I never said they didn't find peace. I just stated that Stefan lived a way longer life than those two. Also Liz got cancer and her death was dragged out while Stefan's was not. I watched the Finale and saw Jenna and Liz in peace. I still think their deaths were the saddest.

John was one of my least favorite characters(especially due to killing Anna),but this scene was one of my favorite scenes of the show due to his letter to Elena
By the end we realized why he was like that though. John was basically brainwashed by his brother to hate.
when John says at the end: "I love you all the same, as I have always loved you, and always will" the scene shows damon. it means that damon loves her all the same, as he has always loved her and always will.. it is no coincidence that he appears (longer) exactly when these words are said and that elena makes eye-contact with him
I always cry when i see back at old stuff from tvd because it brings back so many memories :( i remember watching this for the first time and i just want to go back in time😭
I prefer original version of this song, by Bon Iver, but here, in this particular scene, Birdy version fits perfectly. Bye, gonna go under my bed to cry for few hours.

The letter scene actually foreshadows damon's love for elena. He never gave up on elena even when she turned into a vampire unlike stefan. He himself tells stefan in season 4 that he loves her either way. He will always keep loving her no matter what form she is in. That is true and unconditional love in the most profound sense of the word 😍😍😍😍😍

Julie has said that it wasn't her intention for Elena and Damon to end up together she did it for the fans that wouldn't let up. She wanted stefan and Elena to end up together in the end but because Nina was leaving she couldn't do that.

About36GREEKS I don't know; I loved the first three seasons, but I have really been loving this season too, with - in my opinion - some of the best episodes seen so far (6x15 and 6x21). What I meant, was that with some of the things that are said in this video, or much of what is said in this video, have such a different feel now when looking back. That's all :-)

This scene broke my heart. I cried so much. Jenna was one of my favorite characters, she was so adorable, cool, sweet and kickass. When Klaus staked Jenna I cried like a baby and I was miserable for the rest of the day.
Elena is not as bad as people make her out to be people forget that The Salvatores, Katherine, The Originals, Silas, Amara, Kai, and so on inserted themselves in her life not the other side of the fence

The vampire diaries, theres something special about it, the fact the series literally evolves with cellphones evolving to smartphones, and its probably one of the best shows, So many memories this show gave us

I feel so sorry for Elena and Jeremy but mostly Elena because she both her real parents whether she got on with them or not they were still her biological parents, then she lost her 'adoptive' parents, then her aunt but she still remains strong and carrys on that's why i love her!
