Thanks for these amazing videos as usual! I work in a lot of pop music and I was wondering what your suggestion would be to make better chord progressions within that genre, without having to much of a jazz influence?
@patrickromeoau A solid trick in my opinion is using modal interchange in your progressions to spice it up. A good example of this technique is in Deadmau5 & Kaskade's song "I remember", where the I-chord (B) and V-chord (F#) are major chords instead of minor. Another thing that can help is to leave out/suspend tonality from certain chords by either using sus-chords or leaving out the third completely. This opens up for melodic elements to imply certain modes without defining the tonality too much. Melodic elements usually work more swiftly than accompanimenting instruments as well, allowing for more subtle hints of modal tones.
I dont know where i'd be without your advice. The Piano journey is easier because of resources like the ones you provide. Thank you

you are incredible, what do you think is the best way to learn or start learning about music theory?
First class chord progressions. It would be cool if I could use them in my music for non-commercial purposes. I would give you credit and mention you.
Love your videos, what's ur favorite chord?
please make a video on how to play like zaytoven 🙏
