Fantastic video Sam. This is a total hidden gem - I had no idea it was still used for football, and it's stunning. A Brera home game is going straight on my to-do list!
Lovely coverage of the Milan area stadiums. So much passion, maybe the lady at the entrance understood how much important was for you to get inside the Arena Civica. There's quite an error in the translation. "PATRIA" comes from the latin "Patres" ("Fathers"), so "PATRIA" is the "Fatherland", not the "party". Those guys were shot in december 1943, when northern Italy was controlled by nazi Germany (after september 1943), they were shot because they "conspired for the honour and the freedom of the fatherland", because they were anti-fascist and anti-nazist.
Hello! thanks for visiting also this old arena in Milan. my great grandfather used to watch f.c. Inter matchs here before the second world war. i wanna tell you last season Alcione Milano, which is a 4Th division team of Milano, used to play their home matchs here.
A little clarification on the Fenix Trophy: it's a competion that exists since 2021 (so pretty new), and it's basically the "champions league of the poor man", meaning it works basically the same as the champions league, but is restricted to only amateur and semi-professional teams. The founder of the Trophy, that is sanctioned by UEFA, is Alessandro Aleotti, Brera's president, and currently involves 8 teams: Brera FC (Milan, Italy) Prague Raptors FC (Prague, Czech Republic) KSK Beveren (Beveren, Belgium) FC United of Manchester (Manchester, UK) Afc DWS (Amsterdam, Netherlands) FK Miljakovac (Belgrade, Serbia) Krakow Dragoons FC (Krakow, Poland) BK Skjold (Copenaghen, Denmark) CD Cuenca-Mestallistes 1925 (Valencia, Spain) The motto of the competition is: "Making friends, not millionaires".
I used to live outside of Milano in 2018 and actually managed to visit this stadium by an accident, I overslept when my American Football team had a game in Milano, so I had to travel alone as a foreigner with small Italian knowledge and somehow I ended up going to this stadium even though we played at a stadium over an hour away from this stadium. It was worth it though, my mates got a good laugh and I managed to get inside and walked around confused inside this amazing stadium wondering where my team was at. Such a unique and cool stadium, but I didn’t know the story about Milan Inter and the national team, thanks for telling. Amazing video mate.
Sadly, the oldest football building in world football was knocked down last year. Formerly it was a hundreds year old farmhouse that was then converted into a small grandstand and changing rooms for Queens Park FC at Lesser Hampden, Glasgow.. Worthwhile checking out the pictures of it online.
Great video again. Very nice to see that you got to see the Arena Civica / Arena Gianni Brera, as that's just as important as a football venue as the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Boldklubben Skjold is not a phoenix club, so I guess that tournament is simply a European cup for amateur teams. By the way, since you like to visit lesser known grounds and clubs, the next time you're in Italy you should check out Pro Vercelli. It's located in Vercelli, which is between Torino and Milano I think. They've got an amazing history.
Another great video - thanks for this... more power to your elbow mate. Glad you are expanding your horizons further. You especially promote scottish football much more positively than our media do! Keep up the great work!
Really enjoyed this very interesting video, well done on getting inside briefly - it would have been "no way mate, off you go !" in this country in similar circumstances. Good work as ever Sam....
Boldklubben Skjold Copenhagen is not connected to FC Copenhagen, but they are from the same part of Copenhagen as FC Copenhagen and their stadium is a part of the same complex as Parken - The complex has been home to many of the different teams in Copenhagen...
Your spark, enthusiasm, delight & upbeat music in this about & for that place does it justice on this video clip. Absolutely Majestic stuff good Sir!! That place is something else the character of it & no way is there any other older ground that is a special as that one. I wouldn’t mind betting the ground site & general area in that park has some incredible history & dare say some darker history to it. All the best anyway & when are you going to get to a game at Millwall’s ever fiery “The Den”??! I recommend the dockers stand lower tier nearest to away fans. You will also learn a whole entire new language! 🦁👌🏻🔥🔥😁😁
This is the third video of yours I watched and I was about to complain about the fact that you aren't showing any food, then I noticed that the channel's name is footy adventures and not foodie adventures. Enjoyed the content nonetheless!
The Fenix trophy is strictly for Fan owned clubs and stands for Friendly, European, Non-Professional, Innovative and Xenial. It's a great competition giving small clubs a shot at playing European football!
BK Skjold play their homegames in Fælledparken, which is the park right next to Parken Stadium where you have just been 🇩🇰 also, I’d love to have that poster in my collection 🤩
Jealous! It was closed when I went there two weeks ago, would've loved a peek inside. Glad I get to see it through your video! I only got to walk around which was still impressive
Mate, check out the Charities Cup in Berwick in the summer months. The pitch is tight and the Elizabethan walls borders two touch lines. Local sides from the south of Scotland, NE England
Professional Football is returning to the Arena Civica. Alcione Milano SSD, Milan’s 3rd team has just been promoted from Serie D to Serie C. League regulations mean the clubs need to have proper turf (Not synthetic) ! Arena Civica has been chosen as their new home and renovations are expected to get the stadium ready for Serie C football, more importantly professional football !! Insane football stadium :)
I think a great series for next season could be an FA Cup one where you choose a random team that enters at the 1st qualifying round. You then keep following the winning team each round until eventually you get to the final.
Walter Zenga in 2016 was wolves first manager under fosun in the championship was going to be Julen Lopetegui wolves current manager but he was offered the Spanish national job and Walter came instead very nice guy fondly remembered but didn’t work out
Went to Milan the same time as you and also stumbled across this stadium 😂 luckily there was a random door open so I could have a look inside. Beautiful place
The only place I would consider this matched to if being in England would had been the old Crystal Palace in London. Imagine if that was still standing. This is visibly stunning.
I'm travelling to Milan to support BK Skjold; can't wait to witness this incredible ground! #makingfriendsnotmillionaires It does remind me much of Stockholm stadion (FC Stockholm). A small correction: BK Skjold does not (officially) have anything to do with fck, that was KB and B1903.
It was designed to be flooded and host fake naval battles. Glasgow Rangers played there in European Cup 1957. They lost 2 Nil to AC Milan. Milan won both legs. The match was moved from San Siro due to fog.
Very important message: If you have the option or possibility you MUST visit germans Schalke 04 at home this season. This will be something you will NEVER forget. Just believe, please
note how the attendant lets him in even though perhaps he couldn't to make him take both photos and videos... how Italians treat tourists, it is useless to go around it, there is none!
'Patria' means 'fatherland' rather than 'party'. The people shot were fighting for the honour and freedom of the fatherland - presumably partisans who were fighting both the remaining forces of Mussolini and the Germans who had invaded Italy fearing that Mussolini was incapable of fighting the British and Americans who had invaded earlier in 1943.
Have you ever seen another stadium like this?!
Stockholm stadion (FC Stockholm)
Are you going to the falkirk vs dunfermline game tonight as there will be a great atmosphere with 10,000ish fans there at eep
#COYB
This guy is even covering the unknown stadiums in ITALY!! Beautiful. Respect.
Cheers mate 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Fantastic video Sam. This is a total hidden gem - I had no idea it was still used for football, and it's stunning. A Brera home game is going straight on my to-do list!
Arena Stadium is in the city center in the big park behind the Sforzesco Castle
OMG Tim in a footy adventures video. I love
Milan is so beautiful! That stadium is so cool!
What a stadium! One of the coolest I’ve ever seen
Not it. Milan is a dirty and ugly city without anything of interest exluding the Dome aarea. I've been there never go back.

That stadium is unreal 👀👀👀 looks like something outta gladiator
Unreal isn’t it!!
Isn't there a team in Georgia that plays inside a medieval castle? Surely that's older.
Sam providing us with quality content as always
Legend thanks for the support 🙌🏼📽
Really enjoyed this very interesting video, well done on getting inside briefly - it would have been "no way mate, off you go !" in this country in similar circumstances. Good work as ever Sam....

Super vid. The Nacional Stadium in Lisbon has taken some influences from this stadium.
You've got to get back there to watch a match!! Incredible venue!!
Superb , stunning . Bring back all standing football ⚽️ 🙌
Loved this video! Your content is always great! Keep up the good work! Larne fc supporter 👌
Superb video Sam, love these stadium visits to teams most of us don't know anything about, very enlightening. Well done 👍
We used to make running tournaments in primary school in that stadium, great video!
Love these vids mate. My favourite and most humble youtuber 💪🏼

Came back from work and relaxed watching FOOTY, love it
It looks like an old Soviet stadium I went to in Lithuania.
Awesome video mate!!!
Great video 👍😀loved it thanks
Really interesting post, footyadventures reaching the places other footy vlogs don't 👌✌👍💙⚪
That stadium is right amazing. If I lived their I’d support that team.
Jealous! It was closed when I went there two weeks ago, would've loved a peek inside. Glad I get to see it through your video! I only got to walk around which was still impressive
I have no idea how you find these places but what a find so historic so beautiful….. keep going mate 👍
Video idea: Visit the bottom tier (or any tier) in wales great video
The plaque says for the Honor and Freedom of the nation, not of the party. "Patria" Is fatherland
Gradually , I am in love with your content ... Love from india 🇮🇳
Thank you so much I am visiting Milan for a football weekend and will check them out

L' arena civica non è una rovina antica ! Viene utilizzata molto spesso per eventu di vario genere e chiaramente, soprattutto sportivi
Went to Milan the same time as you and also stumbled across this stadium 😂 luckily there was a random door open so I could have a look inside. Beautiful place
I played in that stadium when i was a child. Great place
I Remember seeing this when I was in Milan and got a quick look inside

Magnificent old stadiums have given way to modern crap. Thanks for the video.
On July 27th, 2010 I saw there the great Gary Moore in concert, probably his last live performance in Italy ❤️😓
I'm travelling to Milan to support BK Skjold; can't wait to witness this incredible ground! #makingfriendsnotmillionaires
It does remind me much of Stockholm stadion (FC Stockholm).

Went there with FC United last season it's brilliant.

Respect from Chile!
As grounds in Italy go, I think this one's pretty cutting-edge!
Fair play they let you in.
FC United played that team in the Fenix Cup.
United of Manchester is also currently taking part to that Fenix "Non League" Trophy :)
Amazing stadium.. I totally need to go see it by myself! A-ma-zing !!! 🤯👍🏻
Arena Stadium is in the city center in the big park behind the Sforzesco Castle
Really reminds me of Stockholm stadium
Might be visiting this stadium soon if FC United draw Brera in the Fenix Trophy. Looks like an amazing stadium!
Next time your in Italy you need to go to a Napoli game
Watched a game there in 2005. Very random experience.
Very important message: If you have the option or possibility you MUST visit germans Schalke 04 at home this season. This will be something you will NEVER forget. Just believe, please
It beats Wrexham's Racecourse Ground for only two years. Crazy
i swear i watched an episode of one of Gordon Ramseys cooking shows and he had a race against other chefs around here
In the 70s and 80s concerts were held there. I saw Bob Dylan and Tom Petty on the same bill!
Missed 9500 at Falkirk / Dunfermline mate 😅
This took the "fortress" thing too far ☠️
Wrexham stadium was built in 1802

Patria is fatherland, not party! Sorry to be annoying but just helping to get the meaning correct
Is he by himself? Just wondering nothing wrong with that or anything just wondering
Are u gonna do a San serio stadium tour
"Not Efe Ambrose" lol
I thought you'd of picked up on the Everton sticker with the old Archibald Leach stand proudly on the front.
Efe Ambrose 🤣🤣🤣
Next destination Roma
