Bureaucracy and corruption have been a major cause of Serie A's downfall... for all the shit Redbird has received re: Maldini and spending in the past, I can appreciate them saying enough is enough and looking to change how the club operates and aim for profitability & sustainability.
I would like to add, that with the revolution of the Full back position Inter created Facchetti, the best Fullback of the 20th century. Extraordinary full backs are not seen so often, but both Milan and Inter have generated or fielded the best. Facchetti, Zanetti, Maicon, Roberto Carlos (Although didn't play as FB for Inter much). I will add Cancelo and Hakimi as "Current good fullbacks" as they are better than most today (Mostly in Attack) but are not near the first mentions. Shoutout to Maxwell, maybe not best, but deserves it. Maldini, Tassoti, Cafu and Zambrotta (since came later in Career), and now Theo Hernandes. I don't think you can find other clubs with such great history of this position (Probably all if you really think about it since both Club fielded really the greatest players ever in history)
Masterful video and storytelling. I would like to add one more point which you forgot to mention. Like Cesare and his son Paolo Maldini both lifted the European Cups ( Champions League ) as captains in 1960s and 2000s respectively. Angelo and his son Massimo Moratti also both lifted the European Cups ( Champions League ) as club owners in 1960s and 2000s respectively.
I am a proud Inter fan since I was 9 years old and I love this rivalry between our 2 clubs. The derbys are definetly something from the tension to the choreography
Simply amazing work! I have been a Milan fan for 21 yrs and this rivalry is an amazing passion that embodies “the beautiful game”! Can not wait for this upcoming derby!!!
probably that kind of video will not get the same views as casual ones, but its great that you made it, a lot of informations, a lot of work on your side. great job!
Kush, you continue to impress and push the envelope. So bloody impressed bro, amazing info and even as a long time Milanista I found myself learning new info at every turn. Incredible job 👏👏👏 FORZA MILAN ⚫️🔴
I learnt so much about the club I love and support. Thanks so much for this video Kush. I only really started watching club football in 2003. That was when my boy Kaká joined. And he was the very reason I became a Milanista. The period from 2003 to 2007 was a glorious period for me.
I'm italian, i'm milanese and i'm an Inter supporter. You've described our historical rivarly, during since 1908, in a so good and accurated way. Congratulations my friend..! sincerely
Such a well researched and beautifully crafted video Kush! Even as a lifelong Milan fan, had no idea how many parallels there are in the story of us and our cousins. Underrated content as usual, even if you don’t get the recognition you deserve one day this channel will blow up and I’ll remember being an OG fan ❤️🖤❤️🖤
I'm not all the way through the video yet but just had to say when Paolo Maldini's picture came up and you said the name I actually got goosebumps. Great video, on the clubs history. If you haven't read Calcio by John Foot I would recommend it to you.
Sadly this is true. Hopefully, now that they’re opening an office in the US this will change, but I have faith that the Serie A leadership will find a way to mess that up too.
They removed pirelli name but show it as long as was on inter shirt (provocation and stole), also changed the name of the stadium in honor of inter (meazza played for both but for us italian he is considered more an inter legend, so again provocation and stole) important peoples in Milano want inter to be bigger this is why they changed the stadium's name and appropriate of pirelli's sponsor they want to take away from milan for give it to inter, and this is why milan had problem with the new stadium project this summer, by the way great content for real 👍
Really a great video! Just two realtively small things: when talking about the split I think you should've mentioned that Milan decided to join a league that allowed only italian players as that was the main reason that made the foundation of Inter inevitable, also at 17:13 the photo is from the 2005 quarter finals, not the 2003 semi-finals. Forza Inter!
I was about to watch the video but now after reading this comment I think I'm gonna pass. How can someone make a video about the Milan/Inter split without mentioning the disagreement about allowing only italian players?
Great work man! Must say good research and and nice episode. Catenaccio was kind of a myth that it was total defence. The truth is it was quite the opposite. Revolutionary system at the time. He used a 5-3-2 formation, the first ever system changing the right and left back to total full backs taking on all the flank and setting feet on the opposition area giving more players in the attack. Herrera himself in a famous interview laughed when he was asked about the “defensive “ system and explained all the above.
Yes, many people don't understand this. I'm sure more people are aware, but they just shrug and don't comment to reinform people, I am happy that you did.
I would like to add, that with the revolution of the Full back position Inter created Facchetti, the best Fullback of the 20th century. @@footballkush So true! It’s become the friendliest derby in the world, especially after the two Ultras groups signed a pact of non-aggression in 1983, leaving it all to take place inside the San Siro. Going forward, we may see this small divide widen as Milan are now closer to getting an own stadium.
First good show, but you can do better. I'm surprised since you put quite an effort to make the video you still manage to get well known facts/easy to research facts wrong. It's hard for me to forgive because it is quite simple. For example, The 'Iconic photo' of Materazzi and Rui Costa was taken in the 2005 CL QUATER-FINAL, which even CBS got wrong last season only for Materazzi himself to correct them LIVE on their show. I don't know what you're talking about when you say Real Madrid broke a 27 year record of Milan winning back to back EC/CL, really? even this you (or your team) gets wrong? or is this some strange statistic of 27 years being the longest time since a Club won B2B EC/CL, if so it's ridiculous to include. Inter's first half of 90's saw 3 podium finishes, 3 Trophies, and second half of the decade 2 Podium finishes, 1 Trophy and 2 Silver medals, apart from not winning Serie A this is NOTHING like Milan CLEAR two tale 80's. I would cut some slack here, if you hadn't started this segment with " While doing research" - What research mate? you need to research your research, again. It baffles me how many so called journalist get this wrong, it shows me the extent of their disconnection to what their reporting. It's your bread and butter so I don't mind that you're not actually a fan or into the work, however you and your team have responsibility to inform correctly. You will misinform the uninformed and never gain respectable following from those who know their stuff, once the uninformed start to figure this out they will leave you for someone better.
You missed a critical point I. That Milano is the name of the city in Italia. However in the Milanese and other lLombard dialects ( evolution from latin not from Italian) the name is Milan which coincides with the same name in English
Was a very interesting watch and after the game on Monday the 22nd of April 2024 that game will be in the history books. Inter winning their 20th, against Milan playing as the away team! I'm sure AC Milan will get their 20th and 2nd star but it was so cool for Inter to do it in a way like they did.
Great video, i don't know if you knew (because nobody knows that) but the two teams actually played a couple of times as a single team again, in the '60 and in the '80 i think (for charity match, etc). Check what you can find about MilanInter United or Milano United. Spoiler: that wasn't succesfull for fans of both teams lol. I discovered that 'cause last year i got a book which celebrates every Inter kit in the team history (cool book) and has those kits too.
The San Siro originally belonged to AC Milan. Shame on the Municipality for exploiting the team financially.
I'd be happy to see a move!
