    As a Rossonero my entire life, when they announced they possibility of signing Rangnick, I was immediately opposed to it. I liked the path Pioli was paving and always criticized the often changing of coaches which inevitably took a toll on the team's performance. In the situation AC Milan was, you can't expect immediate results. Instead, managers and ideas need time to cement and take shape, which is exactly what happened with Pioli. Likewise, Massara, Maldini and Gazidis have done a superb job signing unknown talent with incredible potential. Just look at how Tonali, Theo, Leao, Tomori, Maignan and Kalulu turned out. And finally... the signing of Ibra was potentially one of the largest contributors to our Serie A. Even at his 40 years of age, he still scores goals, provide assists but more importantly, serves as a major voice and leader in the locker room. So much so that players look up to him and work 3 times as hard because he demands it. He has a winning mentality and convinced the team that they could win when the target was to finish 4th. This is a masterclass on how to run a team in a budget restricted environment and complimenti to Pioli for sticking to his strategy and being brave to change it when needed, Maldini & Massara for having the vision to sign the right players without regards of name, and the team for leaving everything they had on the field.

    • @regulark3v165
      @regulark3v165 2 года назад +6

      I can honestly say I didn’t want Pioli and did want Rangnick, but what I really wanted was consistency which I really hope that’s what we get for a good while.

    • @yohanesLi
      @yohanesLi 2 года назад +6

      And now, there is no regret to keep pioli and cancel rangnick contract. Unlike Pioli who have big limitation in player choice in his side but never criticised and demand new star player to the management but sucsessfully win the title, we saw rangnick fail in MU with well decorated players (ronaldo, pogba, de gea, varane, rashford, and of course the most expensive Harry Maguire), he also criticised the player in post match interview, could not maximize their talent, and could not fit tactics to bring the best from the player. Milan management doing the great job.

    • @Truesilverful
      @Truesilverful Год назад

      I was probably one in a million who was super pumped when we appointed Pioli. I observed his teams when he was coach of Inter and mostly in Fiorentina. He took teams that were in mess and made them whole. Especially Viola after Astori passed. I understood that he would be perfect for Milan because we needed healing and most of all we needed someone who helped the young boys. Milan didn't need tactics with this very, very young team. This is why Giampaolo failed miserably. Pioli is a man manager first and only then a tactician. Where he would probably fail in teams where veterans are mostly dominant, he excelled in Milan where average age was 21 and that is with 40 y/o Ibra in the squad. I remember his approach during COVID break. He would call each player individually and get to know everyone, become a friend first, show interest in them not only from footballing perspective, listen to what they think is their strengths and where they think they should play on the field to get most of their skills. This is very rare in nowadays. Pioli really is on fire!

    Tomori and Kalulu were such a match made in heaven. But to be honest, I'm feeling sorry for Alessio Romagnoli. He's our captain, but he barely starts. He used to be one of the brightest Italian defender - some of you might remember that he and Virgil van Dijk was never dribbled past by their opponents until the 2018/19 season almost ends.
    Seems like Alessio was sacrificed by Pioli because he wants to play a high-line defense and Alessio's lack of pace will (and had) exposed him.
    I can totally understand if he leaves this summer - he already took one for the team and I respect him a lot for that.

      Which is why his send off will likely be a way better one, compared to 'the other guy who happens to be a goalkeeper'. He even admitted he's a Laziale, he is under the same agent - the late Mino Raiola, yet he doesn't create many dramas, unlike the other guy.
      When he plays, he gave his best - and some clutch goals as well - although he hit his limitation lately. And when he was sidelined, he doesn't complain. I find his mannerism will be much appreciated by milanisti all over the world, unlike the other guy.
      I understand that he wants more playing time and would rather leave on bosman, but he carries his way with more class, unlike the other guy.

Maldini's influence shone through in convincing these players with high potential to play for the cause and give it everything. But, Moncada has done an exceptional job, which should be praised.
    Talking about Pioli, when he joined Milan, he had his assistants go to Bayern and read how Flick's team ticked, started adopting a more European approach by introducing high press. He also understood and used players at their best positions.
    With regards to players, as others pointed out, Krunic was missed out. He was our Ambrosini in a team of all stars. Did everything he was asked to and at all positions.

    It stuck in my head and he automatically became my idol with his name on my football wears to school and field at home.
    The only time I've felt the way I felt after the scudetto win was the 2007 win over Man U to set up a rematch against Liverpool which we would win to complete our revenge.
    My love for this team never died even during the mediocre seasons.
    I would refuse to see their matches out of anger but before I know what's happening I'm sitted seeing same match and jeering forethe team.

    I'll be turning 39 this December. Supported Milan since I started watching Football Italia on CH4 in the UK when I was eight or nine years old. It's sickening seeing friends back home or random clowns on Facebook or whatever, denigrating Serie A, because the EPL is 'so much better.' 'Italian football is too slow' they scream. Maybe because the players are coached to not run around the field like headless chickens. 'It's too defensive.' Defence wins you games. It's more difficult to maintain a solid backline than it is to score. 'No big players play in Serie A.' This might be true enough these days, but only because of money. Football, whether we like or not, is a money racket these days. The only reason any player would trade in living in Milan or Rome versus Manchester, is the big fat paycheck. Agents and their grubby paws have ruined the game as well, but that's a tangential argument. I'm hoping for a solid run in the CL this season, and another title to get that second star would be most welcome. I'm just happy to see Milan finally getting their act together, on the field and off. Forza Milan.

    as Milan fans, i've never expect we signed Ibrahimovic for his contribution on the pitch, but rather for his mentality on and off the pitch. when Ibra's around, the mentality of the players just different.
    The mentality what Milan desperately needs, since most of Milan legends retired at the same time back then like Gattuso, Nesta, Inzaghi, Seedorf and others influental players leaving like Thiago Silva.
    theres no "real" leader since then

    Milansti aren't English or German fans. Many will happily admit that Pioli being appointed didn't fill many with much hope. In order for a manager to be successful, a whole club needs to be united. In his first 10 games, he only won 4 and the year finished with the team being humiliated in Bergamo losing 5-0. Around that time, there were disagreements in the background with both Boban and Maldini protecting him, whilst others looking to undermine him and having Ragnick lined up. Things did improve in the new year of 2020, but the undoubted factor for progress was Covid. The first game behind close doors before football was suspended was a woeful home defeat to Genoa. That had come after a disappointing derby loss, draw with Juve, draw at Fiorentina and a slender victory vs Torino. The break between March and June was a godsend. By then Elliott had united behind Maldini and Gazidis, allowed them to run the club even though losing Boban was a huge disappointment. This sense of unity and being able to train the team in tranquilly during lockdown allows Milan to almost start afresh. The club and team that returned when football restarted in June 2020 was almost a totally new one. For a manager to succeed, he needs full support of the team, good players and of course leaders. That's where Ibra's contribution on the training pitch and dressing room also cannot be underestimated.

    Ik this is super irrelevant to the topic but today I was playing FIFA online and I said
    “Yk what fuck it, let me play as AC Milan for a bit”
    I want Unbeaten for 4 games
    Won 3 and tied one
    Leo a hat trick against Liverpool in one game
    Giroud with a stunning header at the last second and
    Diaz with a Brace against RM
    It’s very swell to see a historic club like AC Milan bounce back, im looking forward for their champions league return
    Also great video Adrian! Keep it up

    A lot of football fans, especially Interisti, mocked us when Li was kicked out by Elliott because he wasn't able to repay his debts. Little did they know, that was the best thing that could happen.
    Here's waiting for Zhang to implode their team soon.

    Early July. Bit of chaos at the club. Milan lost out on Sanchez and botman. Origi looking like the big singing for the early transfer season. Leão and bennacer not renewed and maldini and massara renewed after their previous deals ran out. Redbird is red herring.
