What a moment and opportunity for Beckham, imagine just being an armchair fan of football shirt hunting, then getting a call from the Plattdog to shoot one of these. One to tell the kids about for sure!
Cause his rise to fame was more from his ventures outside of football and his good looks. His football skill is absolutely no joke but compare to players who are classic no 10, his deadball specialist skill just can't be shown as frequently
@@s4xtt He's one of THE originals who was able to cultivate a "brand", not just be a great footballer and that's it....Once he retires he's lost like most players are, He found a purpose that IMO transcended his identity as "Beckham the footballer" to "Beckham the man" and that's always understated, it's crazy how people think it's all fame and nothing more, he made SERIOUS business moves and I for one am happy he is getting his rewards. What a terrific episode! Great work and very special to see Becks recollect his personal experiences and memories with this incredible collection of shirts ⚽️

@@worldclass3895you seem very upset with yourself mate, figure it out no reason to hate if you haven’t learnt anything from ellis then why dont you do what he does since you know so much?
Mr. Beckham, when you visited Salt Lake City, Utah back in the middle 2000’s with Real Madrid to promote Real Salt Lake, I helped you with finding the proper sizes you where trying to find at Abercrombie & Fitch, Everyone was too scared to approach you, But me being the dominant male at the store, I made sure you where helped with anything you needed. And I must say at first it must be like what seeing “Bigfoot” is like… you see him on TV, but there he was.. in the flesh… we stood eye to eye. I couldn’t believe how TAN you where. But you where such a gentleman, your the only famous person I’ve ever met… and you where very kind. Thank You for being authentic and lovely to help.
When I watched Preston back in the 90s, watched Beckham at Deepdale, his goals. He was a name back then, coming through, But he stood out completely. I remember his movement and on the ball, he was just levels above.
One of my favourite football memories was seeing him score a free kick (against Fulham I think) for PNE. Me and my grandad tipped him for greatness. Shame he only played a few games for us.
Great viewing ..my fave bit was when David’s OCD kicked in when you tried to put the training pants back on the hanger and they ended up like a dogs dinner …oh the look😂😂
Beckham seems like such a genuine, down to earth fella. Has an amazing mentality for the game too, nice insights into how his approach was as a man united player. Absolute legend becks
Great, i honestly started crying … because growing up in the 90s and early 2000s life were different, so many great players, and the youth today might not understand. Beckham was amazing player but was also almost like a rockstars / moviestar ish if you like, what Cristiano is today so to speak, but in an era we could only see them on the weekend or in the magazines or the sports newspaper , so when 5-6 days wait to see them play, it was a different connection, the curiosity and the admiration became unique, today you have socialmedia going straight into peoples kitchen, there is no wait, there is less excitement to read and learn what are the latest news etc. The sport felt pure, the quality of the great players were imo deeper, i might be biased, but it was special, life was different, happier times in general for many, i think everything almost peaked in form of evolution. Right amount of coverage/ media / technology, style of football you name it. To hear him speak about it, myself and probably many more get some emotions and can relate, not just to Beckham but a life and a lifestyle. I love these segments and looking back you miss it, at times probably to much, but also super happy that we millenials lived it. Those were the good days of football! Beckham, unbeliveable player, i think he has the best foot of anyone, diagonal long balls of 60-70 meters perfectly on the foot of the strikers or wingers at pace, that is unique, maybe Carlos, and a selected few pirlo could be named but Becks, he was pure class, and also a humble person, when you think about England as millenial you think about him, albeit they did not win in the national shirt they were exciting and for them to lose against likes the brazilians or the portugesé it has zero shame, they made a huge impression on the world. Jees me now being 37, it feels so close yet so far. ⚽️
One of the most respected and respectful sports man in history of sports, in Man Unt was a legend in the England squad made history and Real Madrid he showed the kind of character he was. Thanks David, you were my Idol in my teens an as a Real Madrid supporter from Spain my biggest respect…
Crazy to think a few years ago I used to watch Ellis go to all sorts of away games with long fringe lol, to know being invited out and doing a collection video with david beckham. Crazy, come along way but fully deserves it.
Don't know who the young fella is to be honest but he is very good at interviewing, natural. You'd not think it was arguably the most famous footballer of all-time in front of him 😂
Amazing 🤩 as a shirt nut this is what you love to see 2 people that clearly love it nerding out over shirts also maximum respect to Ellis handled this perfectly 10/10 👏
Brilliant Ellis, really pleased for you that you got to do this. Must have been really nerve wracking but you handled it really well. Your passion and knowledge for football and football shirts shone through. Hope you tried to get Beckham to subscribe to Away Days and The Gaffers 👍🙂
This is an iconic video 😂 love to see Ellis come on like he has and be put in this spot, it's deserved. But if you played a drinking game where you drank every time Ellis said Iconic you'd be drunk 5 mins in 😂😂
Ellis smashed it. Great interview, great knowledge and great antidotes to allow Beckham to engage. Loved watching, hope you get to do more interviews with legends!
The Bobby Charlton soccer skills tournament that they speak about, I made the final of the same tournament in 1984, I was 13..........It was held partly at The Cliff training ground and then some of it on the pitch at Old Trafford.........I remember going into the centre circle to do the ball juggling test............Normally I could keep the ball up for ages, but this time, in front of about 10,000 crowd (there were 45,000 there by kick off), stood on the centre spot, I absolutely sh!t myself and dropped the ball after about ten seconds...........But at least I got to meat Bobby Charlton and had a front row seat for the game ..........UTD lost 2-1 to Ipswich if I remember correctly.
@richardevans7035 as a kid I was better than most, but I was too skinny and weak, and never pushed myself enough. I just thought making pro was inevitable because of my ability. I was at Bradford City when I was 15, but all the other kids were like men, I was just this skinny weakling. I played one game for Scunthorpe reserves and then spent most of my late teens and 20s playing semi pro......just like countless other kids who 'almost made it'.
Here's another take! David Beckham reminiscing about jerseys like a dad going through his vinyl collection: 'Ah, this one's a classic, very special to me... played against it on a rainy day in '03, great memories!' I'm just waiting for him to dig out a jersey from a charity match he played in his backyard and declare it the most special of them all.
As usual Ellis's genuineness and enthusiasm shines through and makes these vlogs special no matter who he's talking shirts with. This just seemed like a lovely chat with a mate If there were any nerves, they didnt show I look forward to the Messi episode, cant becso far away 😉.
Probably the only thing that spoils the video. Must of used a shotgun mic above them instead of using lav mics or something odd within post production. Could do with some music in the background as well.
just buzzing for Ellis that he got to do this ❤
Feel like a proud dad watching it hoping he doesn't mess anything up 😂
W moment right here
Shame he was unable to correct Beckham's error about which shirt was worn in the 1990 FA Cup final.

Yea lucky guy to have that gig+do that with becks
Thanks so much for the opportunity. Proud of this one!

This kid is absolutely fantastic Held this interview/Chat like a true PRO
shame for the audio though

You can see the passion he has for the history and memories around every shirt. I've never see him more articulate. Really enjoyed this.
Yes, it is worthy of praise
