I’m here in France for 3 weeks and travelling to Beaune in six days. I’ve been watching this channel for the last month in preparation. I can’t believe he just uploaded this. Hey Rick if you’re still around would love to get together.

Well done as always. I've picked (or is it hunted?) snails from the hills above Cassis, and eaten sea snails in the Les Halles de Lyon - Paul Bocuse. Market days are always the best days in France; friends, neighbors, and even tourists open up and are happy.

I don't get it... You can buy snails in their shells or you can buy a jar of snails that have been removed from their shells plus a bunch of empty shells to put them into only to take them back out again when you eat them? Sounds like escargot hokey pokey.
The one time I tried escargot, albeit in a stateside restaurant, I could only discern the taste of the garlic butter. Is that the only way it's ever prepared?

You have to "devein" the snails, which is the gross part. Thus why they're sold this way.

48 snails for 30€ = 0,60€ each. They are not expensive. Where do you buy yours ?
