It's nice that you went in Semur-en-Auxois, for most people only visit other parts of Burgundy (mainly Côte d'Or, so Dijon, Beaune, etc).
There are a lot of beeautiful places in the other parts of the region (like Cormatin, les Grottes d'Azé, Solutré). In the other parts of the country...
My special favorites may be Munster, in Alsace. I also loved Les Orres in the french Alps. Sampans, in Franche-Comté, was nice (close to Dole).
