- During our recent visit to Burgundy, France, we visited an amazing Saturday market in the town of Beaune. The market (Marche de Beaune) is one of the most vibrant, colorful and spectacular open air market's I have ever been to. The market is located on the main square - Place de la Halle - and is open every Saturday from 7:30am to 12:30pm. If you are in Burgundy, France, this is definitely a must see! Here you can taste and buy amazing local cheese, ham, sausage, fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, croissants, pates, flowers, you name it. There is also a band playing dance music and people dancing to the lively tunes. Visiting this amazing market will definitely be a highlight of your trip to this beautiful part of France.

We were there some 20+ years ago in May. Stayed in Beaune for five days, and to visit nearby areas. Many fond memories of Burgundy, Beaune, Cluny, Dijon, Rochepot, Paris, and France during our three-week visit. Sure would like to do it just one more time.
Yes, amazing area! We were in Dijon as well, but stayed for two nights in Beaune, and thus was our favourite. I can recommend a couple of great places in the area if this might be helpful to you.

France is getting a bit played out, in many ways.
This was our first time in this region and we really enjoyed. :-) It was much less crowded than big cities like Paris and more peaceful and more authentic.
