  • Google fired 28 employees on Wednesday, as revealed in an internal memo seen by CNBC, following a series of protests over labor conditions and the company's contract to provide cloud computing and artificial intelligence services to the Israeli government and military.
This action came after nine Google workers were arrested for trespassing on Tuesday night during a sit-in at the company's offices in New York and Sunnyvale, California, including a protest in the office of Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian.
In a memo sent on Wednesday evening by Chris Rackow, Google's VP of global security, it was stated that "following investigation, today we terminated the employment of twenty-eight employees found to be involved. We will continue to investigate and take action as needed."
The activist group No Tech for Apartheid criticized the termination of the 28 Google employees, describing it as an "indiscriminate act of mass retaliation."
The protests on Tuesday were against the controversial $1.2 billion contract known as Project Nimbus, which involves Israel, Google, and Amazon, focusing on artificial intelligence and surveillance.

Finally! A company that has put equally practised responsibility and freedom. Freedom of thought should come with equal responsibility of thought. Same for speech. If people are going to be so irresponsible with freedom of thought and speech as to believe in things that are perniciously false, and harm innocent people, they should be held responsible. Israel treated a Muslim girl in Israel with excellent medical care after she was hit by shrapnel from Iranian missiles; while Palestinians have been raping and murdering the Jews they kidnapped into Gaza. Reveals the truth about how Jews treat Muslims, and Muslims treat Jews. A responsible thinker bases their beliefs on evidence and accuse the guilty. These deluded, irresponsible protesters have been doing the opposite. They degrade and abuse freedom. It is encouraging to see a corporation stand for authentic freedom. Bravo Google! Freedom without responsibility is not freedom. It is license.

A lot of software engineers would kill to be in their position and work for Google. Those 28 people are not indispensable. Hire me, Google. I don't mix politics with work 😅
