The IVE favoritism is annoying they're good but I wouldn't say they're better than Lesserafim, NewJeans & G(IDLE). Some Kpop fans truly think Korea starts and ends with their favorite idol groups lol. The most popular genre of music in Korea is ballades and the public is especially receptive to well written lyrics. IU delivers on both fronts. If you don’t even understand Korean it’s hard to fully get what would make some poetry in Korean better than another one. This whole video just sounds like someone who knows nothing about how this award show works or what is popular in Korea at all and is just pissed that the entire nation isn’t on her wavelength. As for BTS, it is expected. This is Melon Music Awards. Not "Opinion Music Awards". Among all boygroups, BTS had the best accumulative points in terms of charting songs. Bigbang did well too but they only release one song compared to BTS consistently charting not less than 5 songs this year
i think some underestimated how popular ive were on melon this year. this is a award show based on the melon music app, and they were always on top. newjeans was also very popular but I guess they had the disadvantage of debuting in august this year, but if i remember correctly ive dominated the girl group game on melon this year. (im not a fan, but i saw some statistics online)

ive won because all their song charted so well domestically which is basically the foundation of most of these awards. from eleven, love dive to after like, all 3 dominated the charts and have great physical and digital sales as well as streams, specially on melon. they surpassed so many groups this year domestically that they even have better chart placement than veteran groups such as blackpink and bts
They even have the highest streams for a 4th gen song on Spotify this year....even their international success is amazing and not talked about enough. Across the board, Ive's success is consistent and fans of other gg groups hate it.

Stayc's award may be due to the fact that they are always overseas and people know them and welcome them. Unlike other groups they don't come from a big company and literally it's amazing many people know them globally well at least at the countries they visited.
Stayc's agency was founded in partnership with CJ and kakao acquired more shares last year.. so they're not from a small company. Cj is literally a giant in k-entertainment industry..

MMA gives awards based on their own charts aka melon charts. It's like korean billboard. So, they don't care about international success. if they did, JHope would've received many noms. For everyone saying this is a Korean award show and not an international and the awards are based on domestic popularity not global, I would check out the fan cams. On the official broadcast audience response was kind of filtered out but a handful of times the sound of cheering from the audience breaks through on Lesserafim’s performance. I watched audience recordings of each performance and honestly they had the loudest cheering section and was one of the only groups the audience attempted to do a fan chant for. I gotta say- I’ve’s performance was oddly quiet for their supposed popularity level. And to be honest I think the Korean public is harder on them then global audiences. For me the discomfort is from how there’s blatant favoritism on Starship’s part of not just I’ve but specifically some of their members. The neglect of Gael and Liz. Starship also has a very complicated past. But the last girl group to win was Twice…and I don’t think I’ve is at that level honestly. :/ I’m suspicious ngl

Excuse me if you don't know how much impact STAYC has globally, but they deserve the award. Its not just how fast and many the fans a kpop group have to be deserving of this award but take consideration the extensive growth and genuine love they receive from international fans. bts deserved the award because their comeback was an anthology which was a celebration of their progress in this industry and their friendship with their fandom, the song itself had a very deep meaning as it meant that they are not giving up as a group but diving into their solo projects, armies enjoyed it because it was very meaningful to us and nxde had to be one of the most catchiest songs i've ever heard and the music video and the rap was top-tier and the concept was very unique as it told us the negative consequences an idol has to face when they get popular and fans start sexualizing them.

Atleast IVE's music wasn't as repetitive.. lesserafim was AMAZING too. Gidle WAS PERFECT. Tomboy and Nxde was pretty good for me. The lyrics were pretty well written other than lyrics that say cocky things and talking about themselves. StayC wasn't bad either. Their outfits, dance and stage. I THINK PERSONALLY EVERYONE DID WELL. All of the idols are TALENTED its just that their entertainment or company isn't doing them any good. I gotta be honest its the companies and awards shows faults for being very unfair and overall very favoritism. The idols talents arent boring same goes with the music. The music isnt bad. Atleast it wasn't very repetitive and overall everywhere like SOME music. The stage of each and every group weren't bad. Its just that the companies and award shows don't like to show fairness and equality like the government officials.
I may sound like Im defending these groups because Im a fan of them but i gotta be honest, they all did really well. They worked hard for the stage, worked day and night to practice and PROBABLY didn't eat at all somedays. So, saying that they dont deserve the award, saying that their song lyrics were boring and tasteless, or saying that their stage, dancing, vocals, and rappings sucked REALLY hurts to see that some of these fans don't realise what the definition of being a fan is. Your supposed to support your group as much as possible because you love them and willing to give up your time for them to show support and love. You can't just say that their stage suck or their songs suck because its the companies that your supposed to be complaining about. Its not the group music, dance or vocals. The award shows are the ones responsible for who is the winners not the artists.

I am not the fan of any of the groups but I do listen to their songs. Idk why everyone is so shocked that IVE won so many awards. Their songs from the debut charted so well and they were such bops. All of them! New jeans and leesarem (not sure if I spelled it right) are amazing groups as well with great songs. However, New Jeans is relatively new, it hasn't been long since they debuted. I am sure they will bag many awards next year if they maintain their music quality. About Leesarem, until not long ago the group was caught up in such a big controversy. Their fandom was also divided at some point and their rising popularity was in a mess at that time. Although everything is getting normal now, it did push them back a little, compared to IVE. About G-idle, the songs were amazing but I am not sure if they were higher in charts compared to IVE's songs. Because it's all these things that matter for such awards? In that area, IVE has shown great success and has released amazing songs every time. Agree or not, I don't think it's surprising that they won. They did deserve it. Now it's up to fans to argue their win by calling manipulation or favouritism. They can do anything as they like. 🤷

I believe I've deserves the award they received. First of they had attention from the very beginning because wonyoung and yujin we're contestant’s of produce 48,also Wonyoung alone has been the model of 29th tokyo girls collection as a model, Dior model, GQ Korea model, vogue model, etc. Plus she also the youngest cover model on a magazine. Also I've Member (wonyoung ofc lol) is a music bank Member and used to work with sunghoon which made them both get more fans because they were a perfect match with visuals. Wonyoung beat a children's show and is Nick-named " president of elementary kids" in Korea. And other ive members are also amazing (but I do believe that wonyoung dose hold more fans) and talented as wonyoung just like gaeul ICONIC stare attack. All the members have also been to Germany and France in just a couple of month's. There is alot more I could have said abt wonyoung alone but I don't want it to be all about her (I love her tho don't get the wrong idea♡) bc the other members are also working just as hard. They derserve the award considering ALL the hate they get, not letting fans see their bad days and putting a smile on their face for fans, AND vlogging in Paris for fans even though there so busy getting ready for shows, practicing, traveling, getting ready to model, for just for their fans. IVE is literally just like Wony and Yujin. While in LSRFM, it's only Eunchae that doesn't get much hype, which is understandable since they're still very new. The difference is that most IVE members are mistreated by the company, while LSRFM members aren't.

For everyone saying this is a Korean award show and not an international and the awards are based on domestic popularity not global, I would check out the fan cams. On the official broadcast audience response was kind of filtered out but a handful of times the sound of cheering from the audience breaks through on Lesserafim’s performance. I watched audience recordings of each performance and honestly they had the loudest cheering section and was one of the only groups the audience attempted to do a fan chant for. I gotta say- I’ve’s performance was oddly quiet for their supposed popularity level. And to be honest I think the Korean public is harder on them then global audiences. For me the discomfort is from how there’s blatant favoritism on Starship’s part of not just I’ve but specifically some of their members. The neglect of Gael and Liz. Starship also has a very complicated past. But the last girl group to win was Twice…and I don’t think I’ve is at that level honestly. :/ I’m suspicious ngl

The lyrics and MV is so special that non fans wouldn't understand. They could have easily made RUN BTS the title track but didn't because they are actual artists who value their art and its meaning. Proof only had three new songs yet outcharted everyone other artist out there. They sold millions and is the best selling album of the year with only 2 versions compared to the 10-20 versions some of these kpop grps release to inflate the numbers.And for YTC it debuted straight at No1 Melon Top 100 the first for any song.I am not going to talk about bb since the awards were based on korean charts. They won fare and square by meeting all the required criterias. You people need to actually stream and vote to win the awards instead of whining.

bts deserved the award because their comeback was an anthology which was a celebration of their progress in this industry and their friendship with their fandom, the song itself had a very deep meaning as it meant that they are not giving up as a group but diving into their solo projects, armies enjoyed it because it was very meaningful to us and nxde had to be one of the most catchiest songs i've ever heard and the music video and the rap was top-tier and the concept was very unique as it told us the negative consequences an idol has to face when they get popular and fans start sexualizing them.

Atleast IVE's music wasn't as repetitive.. lesserafim was AMAZING too. Gidle WAS PERFECT. Tomboy and Nxde was pretty good for me. The lyrics were pretty well written other than lyrics that say cocky things and talking about themselves. StayC wasn't bad either. Their outfits, dance and stage. I THINK PERSONALLY EVERYONE DID WELL. All of the idols are TALENTED its just that their entertainment or company isn't doing them any good. I gotta be honest its the companies and awards shows faults for being very unfair and overall very favoritism. The idols talents arent boring same goes with the music. The music isnt bad. Atleast it wasn't very repetitive and overall everywhere like SOME music. The stage of each and every group weren't bad. I may sound like Im defending these groups because Im a fan of them but i gotta be honest, they all did really well. They worked hard for the stage, worked day and night to practice and PROBABLY didn't eat at all somedays. So, saying that they dont deserve the award, saying that their song lyrics were boring and tasteless, or saying that their stage, dancing, vocals, and rappings sucked REALLY hurts to see that some of these fans don't realise what the definition of being a fan is. Your supposed to support your group as much as possible because you love them and willing to give up your time for them to show support and love. You can't just say that their stage suck or their songs suck because its the companies that your supposed to be complaining about. Its not the group music, dance or vocals. The award shows are the ones responsible for who is the winners not the artists.

I am not the fan of any of the groups but I do listen to their songs. Idk why everyone is so shocked that IVE won so many awards. Their songs from the debut charted so well and they were such bops. All of them! New jeans and leesarem (not sure if I spelled it right) are amazing groups as well with great songs. However, New Jeans is relatively new, it hasn't been long since they debuted. I am sure they will bag many awards next year if they maintain their music quality. About Leesarem, until not long ago the group was caught up in such a big controversy. Their fandom was also divided at some point and their rising popularity was in a mess at that time. Although everything is getting normal now, it did push them back a little, compared to IVE. About G-idle, the songs were amazing but I am not sure if they were higher in charts compared to IVE's songs. Because it's all these things that matter for such awards? In that area, IVE has shown great success and has released amazing songs every time. Agree or not, I don't think it's surprising that they won. They did deserve it. Now it's up to fans to argue their win by calling manipulation or favouritism. They can do anything as they like. 🤷

If they have a problem with her from getting more attention out of the group, it is the company's fault to manage the artists well and distribute the lines and screen time. Same for the costumes. About the strawberry controversy, it was stretched for no reason. If she was faking it, then did she kill someone because of it? If it is cringe, then move forward. Fr i think ive’s awards actually makes sense. Like both comebacks they had were such a bop along with their debut. They were always topping the chart and plus they had a lot of wins this year. As for new jeans, i love their music but i kinda get why they didn’t win. After all the girls literally just debuted, they didnt even had a comeback yet. I think just to get nominations w your debut album is something amazing already!!! I believe the future holds lots great achievements for them

Best group bts deserved it. Lol even their average songs are on par with other boy group songs. They did more susscessful concerts and group activities than other groups. Their album proof is best selling korea despite other groups having 15 versions of their albums. They may haven't released hits like previous years but their actually had some meaning

I believe I've deserves the award they received. First of they had attention from the very beginning because wonyoung and yujin we're contestant’s of produce 48,also Wonyoung alone has been the model of 29th tokyo girls collection as a model, Dior model, GQ Korea model, vogue model, etc. Plus she also the youngest cover model on a magazine. Also I've Member (wonyoung ofc lol) is a music bank Member and used to work with sunghoon which made them both get more fans because they were a perfect match with visuals. Wonyoung beat a children's show and is Nick-named " president of elementary kids" in Korea. And other ive members are also amazing (but I do believe that wonyoung dose hold more fans) and talented as wonyoung just like gaeul ICONIC stare attack. All the members have also been to Germany and France in just a couple of month's. There is alot more I could have said abt wonyoung alone but I don't want it to be all about her (I love her tho don't get the wrong idea♡) bc the other members are also working just as hard. They derserve the award considering ALL the hate they get, not letting fans see their bad days and putting a smile on their face for fans, AND vlogging in Paris for fans even though there so busy getting ready for shows, practicing, traveling, getting ready to model, for just for their fans. IVE is literally just like Wony and Yujin. While in LSRFM, it's only Eunchae that doesn't get much hype, which is understandable since they're still very new. The difference is that most IVE members are mistreated by the company, while LSRFM members aren't.
Personally I only know Wonyoung and Gaeul but I didn't listen to Ive for them, it was just bc their songs are good and addictive idk why ppl hate on them that much when they spent all year dancing on Love dive istg
