This Cavalier Coca Cola machine brochure, shows the new “Square Top” look for 1960. This “Square Top” look was introduced with the “C” series machines, (“A” and “B” version machines were built in the 1950’s). This new “C” series featured a round, chrome coin entry plate with the light up “Have a Coke” lens to the left and the light up “Correct Change” lens to the right. The side logo still read “Have a Coke” from the previous years. However, they re-designed the lettering style and used a white painted scallop behind it. The front of the scallop was angled slightly toward the back of the machine, top to bottom. And they continued using the good quality, Tecumseh cooling system featuring the round “Turbo” looking evaporator. Cosmetically, Cavalier Coke machines continued the same exact look and features with the “D” series of 1961. The “E” series of 1962 and 63 however, did have some small changes. Cavalier re-designed the round coin entry to include the light up “Correct Change” sign. The side logo still read “Have a Coke” however, the white painted side scallop was re-designed to come to a mild point at the front. Cavalier also introduced its first push button Coke machine, the CS-55E. A two selection push button Coca Cola machine that held 55 bottles total

I spent over 30+ years working and supervising servicemen working on vending machines.
The Cavalier company went out of business about 30 years ago.
One thing about this slant shelf machine, people would bend a bottle opener, open the bottle while still in the vending machine and pour the drink into a cub.
That's not as bad as people would fill a quart milk carton with water and salt and pour it down the coin insert.
That would make the vending machine jackpot drinks or money.
That is a beautiful machine.
Really great work. Love to see the difference with the two, it´s amazing.
That machine looks amazing!
Probably better than new.
That is such a cool machine.
Fascinating. I have a css 96. Only had the compressor redone.
i love a 96 i sold many drinks out of a round top 96 out side my store for years
I remember using (unrestored) machines similar to this at some e.g. small bowling alleys and gas stations, perhaps where theyd always been, still serving up drinks into the late 80s maybe even the early 90s. I was born in '80 so I remember I found them a little confusing at first.
Thanks Bill. Your problem with a short on the compressor could be many different things hard to tell without seeing it. but if it is throwing the breaker every time you definitely have some words that are crossed and inspect your cord and inspect your wiring harness as well as the the lines that go to the fan motors and thermostats you gotta wire crossed somewhere. Funtronics sells a great wiring harness that covers everything you need. there's also several videos on RUclips that show how to diagnose a compressor and see if it is good or bad but without even having to plug it in.
Beautiful machine!
Absolutely beautiful work.
Thank you so much, i put a lot of extra time and effort into the details
Wonderful machine, If I had the monies I would buy one.
great work keep em running. I would definitely buy a coke or beer from this machine
I have a USS-8-64 from the early 1970s. Good machines. I always thought the compressor was kinda loud in mine, but it sounds exactly the same as when your machine kicked on.
Phil-Tronics Yeah, they all sound pretty much like that. It's just we remember them outside in noisy settings, lol. If I had one I'd set it as 34 degrees...Coke tastes better the colder it is.
You do beautiful work! I bought many a soda from a similar machine in my childhood.
thank you so much
I need to call you sir and talk about what you do . I’m in the processs of restoring one myself and need a lot of help
This looks really cool
It’s beautiful!
Beautiful man
Back in the day they called that sign "Style-Star".
Cavalier went out of business back in the 90's I believe. They were based in Chattanooga, TN.
I've seen those stars on Coke signs for ages... never knew they called them that. Thanks for the info!
Im currently restoring a 1960 cs-64c and making a video series of it. Very well done! I was wondering if you did all the hvac work your self? Or if you bought a plug and play brand new unit for it?
I remember those machines
You are incredibly talented to be able to breath new life in to this very important part of American history. I look forward to buying one of your machines one day! Do you have a website I can check out?
Guy has such a talent but he doesn't respond like a ghost except for a few negative comments that he pulls a Bernie on you. Man. My stylestar so needs this kinda treatment. Love square tops
Incredible, I am more of a fan of the 12OZ version with the diamond can
Love it.
thank you
Looks fantastic. How much does a restored machine like this sell for?
How much of a nightmare is it to remove the fan blower inside the cooler? I need to wirebrush and clean up the bottom of the cooler and don't want to release refrigerant
Great machine! I have a CSS-64GC model and was wondering if I could get some help? I am curious as to how to access the bezel light??? I need to change the ballast. Likewise, where do you find the indicator lights for the "enjoy a coke" light? I am at my wits end on how to do this. Thank you for your help!
Beautiful restoration job!
I have a CSS 64. It's worked fine for years, but recently, when I try to plug it in, there is a spark at the wall socket and it immediately throws the breaker. Any idea what might cause this?
It could be the starting capacitor or the compressor is locked up. Try giving the compressor a few blows with the but end of a hammer.
Those were the days.
I thinlk the CBA-2 coin mechanism's switches for adjusting the money are called dip switches
What kind of sand paper did you use on the anodized metal to get it looking that shiny
Where do you get your seals from? We have a Ginger Ale machine that we need to replace. Need help getting the bottle gates unlocked as well. Replaced the compressor & evaporator coil and all of a sudden the bottle gates won't work. Thanks! You do amazing work
where did you get the adjuster plates for the coke machine ? will they fit these models ?
looking for the light up sign like one on this machine, mine is basic metal sign. Any help appreciated!
Hopefully you can help me or guide me. I recently got a square top that has the Vend knob that you twist. It seems as if the sold out mechanism on all of them the springs are wore out how do I get to them to repair them?
I just a css 64 just like this one and have a question. What process do i have to take to get the aluminum pieces to look like that?
Google it!!!!!
First, great job! It is my dream to own one of these beauties one day. Second, are those plastic bottles? With the plastic cap I'm assuming so. If so, why did you decide to go that way. Not a criticism, just a question. Thanks!
Do you have a place where you get new cooling units for this model, or do you rebuild them? I have a bad compressor on my USS-8-64 that i just picked up. I am having a hard time finding to a replacement cooling unit.
I believe funtronics sells new units. but if you could find a local ac guy. then you could put Quarter horsepower Tecumseh motor in it
How do you go about cleaning up the zinc? I have a css-64. It works, but the zinc is very dark and oxidized.
I have one of these and the bottles don’t come out after I pay for one. Any suggestions how to solve the problem
I have same issue. hear it click after accepting money, but won"t release the bottle.
I have a Cavalier 64 G mode! Do you know where I can get a new square cardboard Coke placard! Mines faded really bad! Thanks 👌
My uncle used to have one of these in his gas station back in the early 80s when I was a kid it was considered old back then but it burnt up when his mechanic shop burned down
That changer looks very similiar to mine. I have been unable to find a manual.
Mine looks like you have to move wires on the PC board to change the price.
I couldn't see what you were referring to when you said "you turn the black knobs on the inside".
Can you show how it works on these older coin changers?
there are a set of either 4 black and white dip switches that turn on and off. or there are a set of red and whited dip switches behind the coin reject piece.
What would this machine be worth? I have a nice h63b model. It’s unrestored but near perfect. I have no idea what it’s worth.
I just picked up a similar machine and was wondering how you replace the light in the main sign?
Tom Berger thank you I couldn’t find anything online
Beautiful machine! Does anyone know the dimensions of this model? I can’t find any specs on the internet about this model.
I've got one but it's a little different. Will mine you have to turn the nozzle to get the bottle to come out. Also do you know how to change the price on a uss-8-64 model
I recently acquired a css-141g do you know where I can get parts for it also how do I get the paper item sign with coke fanta sprite out it is in rough shape
Hey man!! Just bought a similar unit. How do i replace the light behind the logo?
Open door all the way for access to screws, its @ bottom of actual sign enclosure. It's a detachable plate which slides. My suggestion is to just do away with original fluorescent and get LED Light strip and install. You'll have to run the wire through original conduit to power source but it'll be worth it!!! Those florescent bulbs are too expensive and they suck up way too much energy bill!!! U'll thank me later.....
I have a cavalier cs64e the compressor deck needs refurbishing the compressor is dead. Do you have a website? Do you do this kimd of work on compressors? Thanks
I have a coca cola napkin dispenser with the same decal of the woman behind the coke bottle.
How do u change the bezel light
I'm in dancer for a few days and my cousin has a machine exactly like this idk the model number or year but it looks to be the same one in the video. But I can't figure out how to access the light bulbs behind the drink Coke sign. Only in town for a few days so it would be nice if I could help him out before I leave
Jerrod. How do i get in touch about restoring a machine for me. Same machine as is here cs64g please let me know that machine is beautiful
That's a Coinco coin changer. It probably went up to .75 or so.
Question... What is the name of the Coca Cola sign? Anyone know?
By the way I took a tour of the Cavalier plant back in the 80's before Cavalier went out of business.
Hello sir. I have a cavalier machime. Had to drill key out. I cant get the fro t cover open acts like it is stuck at rhe bottom. Help.
Is your website still up? I'm having trouble accessing it.
Do you have a new website, the one you listed is dead.
I have a fully restored Vendo 81 Coke machine that I purchased over 30 years ago. Suddenly I have a problem with the coin mechanism. It will not fully accept my coins and therefore I can't push down the handle to receive a beverage. Can you refer me to someone in my area (Long Island) or is it something I can ship to you for repair? I had some friends staying at my house and perhaps there is a coin stuck somewhere in the mechanism. Can you suggest how I can troubleshoot? I fear if I take the mechanism apart I will not be able to put it back. Thank you
Just found one on a demo job.
HELLO JEN
Beautiful 💟.....why do you keep saying beer bottles?
I have a pepsi 56b-b and a coke machine that takes bottles. Looking to find the sources for paint and labels. Can you help?
Frank
Im looking for a solenoid spring for my cavalier would you have one for sale
Where did you get your parts for it
Sresendiz Resendiz q
But I could not get any plasic bottle to pass underneath . Only can use glass.
they make many kind , you just have to find the right ones usually the narrow plastic bottles work great. also most of the flavored water bottles work good also.
DO YOU STILL RESTORE MACHINES
The other coke cola machine that is out of shape. Maybe you drive to Las Vegas to have the American Restoration guys fixed it for you.
How much does it cost to restore one?
1 Dollar ...and a coke
you restore these? how much do you charge?
restoration depends on machine and what all you need don to it.
How much would it take to get the one on the right look like the one on the left?
What is the number you set the dial to on the fridge.
start about half way and then adjust slowly over a few hours or down. it all depends on how good your seal is and humility and compressor
Jerrod Danielson thank you think my thermostat is bad on compressor goes down to 20 and won't cycle on any number
machine giveaway. I want to win this so bad to own this bad ass good machine
How much?
This one sold but i have a few more i am working on. I am opening a new store in the mountains of east Tennessee below Knoxville, in a little town of Greenback TN it is a classic old art deco filling station that has been added on to . will be turning out some machines before Christmas this year. 2017
(This is Tom, not Sandra.)
Why are you using plastic bottles instead of the classic Coke glass bottles? You are ruining the classic look with plastic!!!
I have one of these and the bottles don’t come out after I pay for one. Any suggestions how to solve the problem
