@@brianmyers4444 Not to mention Mac may even get creative and move Spoon to safety at times.... Spoons football IQ is off the chart. He can already play #1, #2, SLOT corner, box, etc... and given Love can do slot/safety they may interchange. He's already emerged as a leader during OTAs and non contact practice.
With MacDonald guys are going to be rotating all over which is the next evolution. In Balti he really didn't rotate the LBers and DL, he just rotates the safeties. Now with Williams/Murphy (3tech/NT) and Reed (NT/1tech and some 3 tech) ability and then Dodson/Baker being able to do WILL/MIKE (they've done both) - you can rotate all 3 levels. And with Knight, he does have the frame and athletic ability that if you can refine it a bit, can also play SAM/WILL/MIKE.
Seattle's D IMO has more talent than Balti last year at this point... and a higher ability to rotate at all 3 levels. The players he brought in already have the experience too... it will be quite fun watching how much he confuses offenses. One of the most important things for a QB is the ability to pre-snap read (IMO Brady was the best at this). Well with Seattle outside of the EDGE and Outside DBs... that's going to be pretty much impossible because you wont know what position 7 guys are playing. Neither will the OL because of our players on DL, which makes assignments from the Center difficult.
And I know Murphy was a mid 1st rookie, but Murphy could've gone 8 to the Falcons and everyone would've been fine with that. He was a top 10 pick Seattle got lucky on because everyone was so focused on QB and offense skill positions.
