Looks like another Patrick Queen who knows how to get to the ball carrier and wrap up tackles. Solid pick, and definitely what Macdonald is looking for.
Since Knight wasn't on anybody's TOP 250 watch list, not sure why they didn't wait til their pick at #136. Notice McCormick was taken immediately after Knight. McCormick might have been a nice value add for competition at the other guard spot.

@@EmeraldCity12thMan you're right. I said it in refutation to the talking heads who predicted the Hawks might take him in round 4....i was making an observation is all. I was never a Rattler fan.
No reason given MacDonald was a linebacker coach and just a good defensive coach in general that Knight can't play MIKE/WILL/SAM. Also, knowing gap assignments and shooting the gap is not something every NFL player executes well. Trust me, I watched NFL runningbacks DESTROY Cody Barton (ILB for Seattle) many games because Barton would shoot the gap too early or just shoot the wrong one all together. Didn't help Seattle's DL was not that great (not the case now) but yah... there was times he just completely missed gap assignment. And then he went to Washington and did the same thing there. Then you have a rotation 3 of ILBs being able to do MIKE/WILL. You've got Jenkins/Love who can do FS or SS. Love/Spoon who can do Box/Nickel... and Spoon can do DB1/2 and wouldn't be surprised if he gets safety down because his football IQ is so high. Lastly, you've got Reed (1tech/NT/3tech) and Murphy/Williams (3tech/NT)... gonna be insanity for offenses to keep up with where guys are. One of the most important things for a QB is pre snap reads and same with a Center for line assignments/shifts, etc. MacDonald at Baltimore really only moved around the safeties. In Seattle, he'll be able to move around at all 3 tiers... that's going to give QBs and OLs absolute fits to deal with. Not knowing as the OL who is NT vs. 3 tech vs. 1 tech etc. is problematic. And for a QB not knowing who the free safety or strong safety or box safety is, is very problematic.

I just read today he was a favorite of Mike Macdonald and the coaching staff. MM preferred him over the other interior linebackers on the board. There was a concern he wouldn’t be available if they waited.
Knight is a raw, sixth year senior with poor athletic testing. I don’t see what Schneider sees in him over a guy like Cedric Grey but hey, what do I know?
@@FxckNxg Grey is not considered raw for a prospect, he was first team All American. McDonald is known as a linebacker guru though, so I trust they can turn Knight into a solid player.

So fuggin good

I'm loving the head coaches and draft coaches decisions. Finally getting our def back to top tear in the run game.
Anyone else here because they had to pick up a LB late in their mock drafts and this dude was one of the only ones left? He's nice tho
Thats hella funny because its true
Technically you could just wait to the end and get a well scouted UDFA
Yea seahawks!!

@nomadbrad6391 Mike Macdonald is different
Who else is here cause the Seahawks just drafted?
Yes zirrrr
Right with you my guy
Exactly lol
@@nomadbrad6391
Why would they need to draft him at all? They don’t.

Didn't know this guy at all. Seems like a decent pick though.
Looks good. Does he look undersized? Looks like a tackling machine though.
6’ 244 long arms looks fast
Good , Hawks need tacklers

Seattle🟩🟦
People who live in El Paso and know him
Looks more of a strong safety. Guy looks nice.
He put some good tackling on film. Hopefully that carries over into the NFL
