- Continuing the boat project and wrapping up the hull repairs. Just wanted to get these cracks taken care of before they got any worse. It's another job for Marine-tex and I think it turned out just fine! Let me know what you think!
Not sure if you can add pigment to the stuff but it would really make a difference, yellow oxide is what can be used for most gel coats
Can you do a follow up and show us what the repair looks like a year later?
Excellent video. I have a small gel coat gouge in lower half of transom that gets covered by bottom point and this will work perfectly.
I learned alot from this video .. thanks
It is definitely functional. Not matching or at least trying to match. the gel coat would set my OCD off for sure.
Thats a hugely helpful video.
Thats a solid way to do that repair. You said it exactly.
Im a guy trying to keep the family boat going.
Thanks a lot
Is the first step just sanding the crack?
Not bad! I’ll have to try that putty out
Thanks Luke! It's the best stuff I've come across for small repairs. It sets up much harder than gelcoat so you end up sanding through a good deal of gelcoat to get it leveled out, but it is what it is.
Use a putty knife like applying drywall mud.
Awsome job on the repairs.
Thanks, appreciate it!
Good job. Great video.
you can buy gelcoat repair kits will match better
Nice job, thanks
Good job. Need to do same on my sailboat
Thank you!
Good Job well done 👍⛵
