That bench is exactly what I’ve been needing in an area where a tree died and we haven’t decided what to put there. We just bought a bunch of those stones for another project and we have tons of scrap wood. I want to run out and put it together now. Thank you so much! You’re always so full of good ideas.
I went a little crazy with annuals this year and bought a lot of containers. After seeing yours last year, I finally found some baskets. I went to three different Walmarts but finally I have six. They’re so pretty. Your eye for color and texture is phenomenal.
I love using baskets! If you treat them well they might last a clog seasons

I thought about it, I ran out of black paint and I did not want to get anymore, by now you can't even see the wood there so this look is definitely fine.

You will love King Tut! and you could even add one in the center of your other new raised bed box from your other video as a centerpiece too! I grew this last year for the first time and loved it but I can't find then this year yet... still looking! I let them dry in the container in the fall and then cut all the small stalks off to push into my Christmas tree as a beautiful dried flower accent. Got so many compliments! Those will be perfect for your two large containers!

Great idea, great music. I might have to borrow this but pare it down for my porch. Maybe just a couple of pavers stacked will do the job 🤔 Oh and that King Tut will definitely give you height! Mine was massive last year. It’s good they’re in concrete because mine blew over in big plastic pots 😆

Beautiful plants, wow what a great deal on those large cement containers! I never saw your channel before until today it was in my videos on side of computer monitor and when I saw Soil and Margaritas I decided to check out your channel. So where are the Margaritas? I kept thinking you would end the video sitting in a shady area of the yard drinking a margarita but no margarita.

Your eye is so creative and you create beautiful views. (I love your photography too) I think I'm going to try this DIY bench this week. The pavers look very heavy as you said. Can I carry these myself or need help?
The pavers by themselves are doable! I chose these because they were thick and they were the cheapest-best looking option to make the bench work. At the peak of the season you won’t even see them.

I don't, I leave them outside... Mine will rot too, eventually.
Love the bench and your arrangement. “Honey” coloration is interesting. I’ve had golden tones and pink tones. Those summers were different, so maybe weather conditions?
I noticed other "honeys" being different as well, a bit more peachy... I like them both and I hope they thrive this year.

I don’t really have shade, other than under my hydrangeas which I put a lot of heucheras
@@SoilandMargaritas I thought about heucheras. I have not tried them. Do you find heucheras to be invasive? I have been trying to figure that out.
@@ECole-le7we not invasive at all, the darker ones handle sun better, but the lighter ones do best in full shade. Have you tried calladiums too?
I couldn't read the bag of soil you used to fill the cement and other containers. Was it raised bed soil, garden soil, all compost, etc? Are those containers on a watering system or do you hand water them? I enjoy your videos so much! Going to my yard now to see if I can put containers somewhere.
I water by hand and the bag is compressed moisture potting mix from promix, I was trying to break it down because it was very compacted! I use this one and the ones in the blue bags (promix too) I find them at Menards

The black container that you insert the bricks to rise the other black grow container up higher was that a basket or something else?
It’s a metal “basket” container… 🤷🏻♀️… I found it at Hobby Lobby, not sure what’s supposed to be for but I’m using it as a container.
Do you move your roses into somewhere protected in the winter? I am Upstate NY. Ihave never over wintered roses in a container. Jw. I did try bulbs. They rotted.ugh
We will see how they do in there, I will probably move them into the garage until the worse cold happens

A cutter will help you next time better to shorten the plastic container :o)
I know... I almost did not include that.... I used the wrong tool and almost cut the thing in half... lol... definitely using something better next time.
