    I may try some winter sowing in totes. I did jugs but I saw the video where you said you had no success previously. Yours look great this year. Be sure to leave the ones that didn’t sprout in the tote. They might sprout when temps get warmer.

    These big tubs beat out milk jugs for wintersowing, any day! I’m going to give it one more year, and will only be using tubs. Milk jugs don’t seem to work for me and don’t offer as much protection from big temperature dips. Plus you can put so many types in one space, they have more room to grow, etc etc… I’ve had the best results with verbena b. outside as well. They didn’t do anything on my growing rack, so I put the tray in a tub outdoors and they all germinated!

    Tulips need to grow until tops die back to get energy stored in bulbs for next year. I doubt any of yours will survive because they are a fall moved or planted bulb. Not spring time, just to let you know about tulips!

    • @SoilandMargaritas
      @SoilandMargaritas  2 года назад

      Thank you! Yup, if I want my tulips to come back I need to let the foliage die completely on their own, mine in the raised beds are considered annuals, I just don’t have the time or the space to keep them there. I have garden beds where I let them be for a 2nd or even a 3rd year before I dig them out completely

    • @catfishm.1361
      @catfishm.1361 2 года назад

      @@SoilandMargaritas It’s nice you give the beautiful tulip bulbs to neighbors but I’m just saying at that time of year at bloom stage they most likely won’t keep growing for them. To get energy to live and bloom again.

    • @SoilandMargaritas
      @SoilandMargaritas  2 года назад

      @@catfishm.1361 I don’t expect my neighbors to try and get them to rebloom again, most tulips are so picky for me when I try to do everything “right” for them to come back the next year… it’s just how it is with tulips (for me anyways)
      Thank you!

      @SoilandMargaritas  2 года назад +1
