    Nice job! I got frustrated with the in and out too. I left my trays in my high tunnel. I lost two trays of flowers to heat during the day. I should’ve taken them out of the tunnel and put them in the shade I guess. Even though the tunnel was fully open we had a couple days close to 90. Oh, well, live and learn. And when I first started gardening I built a square structure with pvc pipes to protect my brassicas from cabbage moths. It was so big and I had to lift the whole thing off and on.🤪 I don’t know why I didn’t think of doing it like you did!🤣

    What an excellent idea!!! I don't have pvc, but will do this with bamboo stakes and irrigating tubing that I already have here, and clamp the mesh to keep it in place. Thank you so much!!

    I got tired of the hardening process. As well. 😄
    I basically do the same. I take them out once, and leave them outside until the weather is right to plant. but switch from the plastic to a shade cloth when necessary.
    For this I make sure the temperature outside is mostly in the late 40s at night. And cover them with blankets and the plastic if the temperature drops lower than that.
    Thanks for sharing!
    You have a wonderful evening!

    This is such a great idea but first I need a raised bed. I will need something like this to keep the squirrels away from my strawberries 🍓, which are planted in the ground, I would use mesh or tulle for the strawberries and plastic for early spring sowing , thank you 🙏 so much for this video

    Living alone and working all day, I had do something similar to harden off all my trays. I just do not have a whole week at home to start hardening off plants.
    When I got home on a Friday afternoon I pulled the plants out to get the late afternoon sun and then did the normal Saturday & Sunday hardening off. But Monday I left them out overnight (my house was almost as cold as outside LOL) but covered them with a frost cover to diffuse light and a 50-60% shadecloth "elegantly" draped from a table to the ground to cover them (like an awning for them). After a couple of days I removed the frost cover. Then eventually the shade cloth. Only a couple of leaves closest to the cloth got burned and the plants bounced back quickly. I love starting seeds indoors, but hardening off is for the birds!

    I'm doing the same thing, got a lot of my plants in my hoop house that looks exactly the same size as yours and all I have to do is raise the plastic during the day and when it's too cold like tonight it's going to get down to 32 degrees I lower it. They can take the full sun just not the freezing temps that we are still getting. Nice job, your plants look great! I just planted my Nasturtiums they aren't even up yet, I kind of got behind!

    Good looking hat and you look really nice in it! Can you remember where you purchased it? It's been a cool and rainy April in Arkansas so I've had to cover my plants (put out maybe a little early) with plastic cloche covers several nights. Unfortunately there is no room for a hoop system because the other side is against a fence. Please hurry Spring!

    • @SoilandMargaritas
      @SoilandMargaritas  2 года назад +1

      So the forecast looks good, there is one night lows of 47, I am honestly not worry about those lows but if I was I will add my frost fabric on top of all of the seedlings just for extra protection and I will still leave them outside under the hoop house. Worst case scenario I can just bring everything back for one night and it will not be as bad as doing it daily.
