    Oh no another loss of a great talented American. I remember that he narrated a PBS show on Lewis and Clark The Journey of the Corps of Discovery back in the 1990's and I remember him as an actor many years before.
    He had a very calming but distinctive and authoritative voice as a narrator
    I was amazed that he was a U S Army World War II veteran too just like my father and my uncle.
    He had a long life but he will definitely be missed by a lot of us.

    He was really good as Deep Throat (whom we now know was Mark Felt) in "All the President's Men."
    The scenes of him and Robert Redford as Bob Woodward in the basement level of the DC parking garage late at night have an eerie quality, and they are a big part of what makes that film great.

  • @MrPGC137
    @MrPGC137 3 года назад

    I remember him best from his roles in Magnum Force, Capricorn One and as the codecracker in "Midway" (the 1976 version) and on television, as Cmdr. Pete Bucher in "Pueblo" and as Jeremiah Denton in "When Hell Was In Session." He had so many other roles over the years, I can't remember them all, but those were the ones that made me take notice of him as a significant actor of considerable merit. I also got to see him perform live in his "Mark Twain Tonight" at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts (front row seat, no less!) several years ago; that was a wonderful experience.
