Very sad. Peggy was a natural to acting. Such a beautiful woman. Her eyes were so telling of her life and beauty. RIP Peggy, you will forever be remembered.

As a 12 year old when The Mod Squad first debuted, I never missed an episode even into my high school years. She was my first boyhood TV crush. 20 years ago. I watched the movie, and remember thinking "Well, Claire Danes is a fine actress, but she's no Peggy Lipton."
A piece of my youth has passed, and taken a little bit of me with her. RIP, Peggy.

Loved her in Mod Squad......takes me back so many years, a time of wonder, innocence, temptation, The Beach Boys, Otis, the Beatles, Vietnam and writing to friends over there, phones with a line you had to drag to the stairs so you could shut the door for privacy, being home by certain times or you were grounded for next weekend, potato salad, mayonnaise cake, Bar B Que from the Cream Pitcher and going with your guy to the drive-in on Friday night. Thank you, Peggy for sharing you talent with us. RIP.

The Mod Squad was my favorite show, and Peggy Lipton was everything I wanted to be. I remember being really depressed, and trapped, but the adventures in the show were so thrilling. It all took place in Los Angeles, under piers (either running under them to get away from bad guys, or standing on top to embrace when they were all safe). The Mod Squad was such a brave show: it took on topics then that no other show did at that time: racism, war, college activism and hypocrisy, sex ed, autism, drugs, abortion. But mostly it was about three very different people, with very different and difficult childhoods, who came together with love. I'll never forget the episode where Linc and Julie had been in danger, and Pete grabbed both of them and hugged them when they were safe, and it was the moment they became a family. I loved the music that was always played when they were walking away together.Peggy Lipton got several emmy nominations, and Pete and Linc were such emotional, expressive actors. My life mirrored theirs after the show ended, and I am forever grateful.

Peggy you were always so sweet to the children on Mod Squad. As a Kindergartener I began to enjoy Mod Squad re runs. Both Mod Squad and Hawaii 5/0 were not only the best cop shows ever, every episode had a moral lesson to it. R.I.P my sweet hippy girl. Thank You! For being one of my many babysitters as an only child.

I was 9-14 years of age during the televised run of "The Mod Squad" and for me Peggy Lipton's character on the show, Julie Barnes, was an excellent role model of decency and hipness rolled into one, just as Peggy herself was in real life. You know TJ Rex, we have all lost a piece of our past when Peggy Lipton died, I was in Junior High at the time that Mod Squad came out and so was my brother, we would sit and watch that show every time the show came on, we really tried to not miss even an episode! We are all in a state of shock! I sincerely thought that we would never lose Peggy Lipton, she always seemed so perfect!

I didn't see her much as an actress, but of the two thousand or so albums I've got, her 1968 album is probably among the twenty or so that I've played most. That her songs and here vocie stand alongside those of Carol King and the incomparable Laura Nyro is a testament to her musical ability.

I was obsessed. I was five in 1973. Before WW, before The Bionic Woman. I wanted to be her, Julie Barns had a badge & a gun. She was my first representation of strength & womanhood. Watching the shows as an adult might leave a different impression. However for a generation of young girls, the image alone, was everything! Creating a space for that mental picture, lead to that, & many other, realities. It was an expanse of possibilities. Thank You, Peggy. RIP
