Ciao Paolo 😭I was still living and working in Wales in 82. Working in an Italian restaurant!! That day the owner brought in a TV and none of the Italian staff worked, we were all around the TV and when Paolo scored and Italy won,!! Every one of us offered drinks to everyone who passed in!! 🥴😂 Unforgettable,

He was a disgrace in all 4 world cups he took part in. I never cried so much with tears of Joy , He was unbelievable against Brazil one of the best teams in the World against Poland and Germany and Winning the World Cup Rest in peace a Truly Italian Legend in football and the world so young. World Cup winner with Italy in 1982, he will stay in our hearts forever!
Rossi in World Cup 1978 was the second best player after Mario Kempes, and the first in 1982. In my opinion he was at his best in 1977, 1978, 1979 and 1980. Disqualification for two years, for something he had never done, shortened his career. Zico recently said that Paolo Rossi in World Cup 1978 was even stronger than in 1982. I agree with the legendary Zico: one of Paolo Rossi’s best friend.
Technically Rossi was the best small area forward of all times toegether with the german Gerd Müller, but Müller played more and consequently scored much more.
Sadly missed, just few weeks after the pass away of Diego Maradona. Paolo Rossi was my first hero in football. He was the player that won Italy the World Cup in 1982 and participated in 3 goals and 4 assists 4 years earlier in getting them to 4th place.
He won everything with Juventus including the Champions League, and won many individual trophies including the golden ball.
He was the best Italian player from the second half of the 70s to the first half of the 80s.
He was also a good character on and off the field.

RIP Paolo Rossi, my childhood hero! One of the greatest of all times. He knew exactly the spot he needs to be to finish a goal. He was not in the goal scoring picture ( out of the focus from the cameras) but you found out later he somehow was the goal scorer after several camera replays from a different angle and analysis. Amazing goal scorer!
