Well done. Heard you issues at A Little Bit of Everything, mech or legs or something can't remember. It was a shame more folk didn't show up for 600 because the route was absolutely stunning throughout; I really enjoyed it.
Knee problems caused me to stop just in Betws Y Coed. And I agree, that route, and everything Andy does on the west coast is absolutely stunning. By far my favourite routes of the qualifiers.
@@MattPage Good luck for PBP ! (By the way, you're probably aware, but just in case, the ride starts in Rambouillet, not inside the city of Paris, just so you know ;) )
@@niconois thank you. Fortunately, I do know, and have some accommodation booked in Rambouillet. Depending on how long it takes, I might have some spare time after to get the tourist photos in the city.
Did my 600km but didn't get a decent sleep, just twice 1h on park benches, the last 100k took nearly 6h with a head wind and it was much too hot. Will need to organize things better for PBP ! I will be part of the masses who will be just trying to finish in the 90 h.
Well done on finishing it! Parts of doing the 600 were harder than LEL, and I think simply as the bigger events there is more to keep you going and push you on. Good luck for PBP!
Mega job, must be an absolute pain in the bollocks relying on the Heart of Wales line to get anywhere. What, 4-5 trains a day and they cancel them constantly. GL for PBP.
At least with Paris you get big bunches to ride in in the early stages from what guys who have ridden it told me. That was the whole Cookie bar solo so got to be worth an extra 200km effort wise . !
I expect so. I will be leaving in group A, and I think with the faster riders. London Edinburgh London the first 200km was all in a group and really easy going.

Top effort Matt. It baffles me how you manage it. Not only doing the Audax but then negotiating public transport as well. All the best for Paris.
Thanks Gareth. I think using the rail service near me is more challenging than riding!

Congrats on a beast of a ride. The amount of willpower it must take to ride past a hotel you've already booked - I can't even imagine
Great job. Congrats 💪
top class effort , blew my socks clean off :)

It is an absolute nightmare, you simply can't trust it at all and I just have to keep my fingers crossed.

Maybe just start on something shorter! 😉 There are some brilliant audax events using brilliant routes.
