I always said this was one of Floyd's most toughest fights of the latter part of his career. I think Floyd knew Cotto's fighting style would be problematic for his own style. I remember watching the build up and noticing he had a lot of nervous energy at the weigh in. He even called a last sparring session at 1am in the morning, the night before the fight. No doubt that Floyd won the fight, but I'm sure he woke up the next morning in agony. His face was also visibly damaged after the fight. A very rare experience for him.

Maybe the referee believed Floyd at 39:33 when he shook his head 'no' after his face was all bloody and he got hit again.

@@reborn6596 He was always tagged with every opponent that he fought. Now, if you are correct why would he be afraid of fighting again when he could not be tagged hard? Pacquiao is still fighting who is already more than 40, that's not to mention Tyson, Jones Jr., Dela Hoya and others are coming back.

Don’t forget about the entertainment value. People spend a lot of money to attend these fights. And then pay-per-view and whatever… Floyd Mayweather is more than a boxing genius.
