making sure the gasket fits tightly across the ball on the pivot rod is probably the most important part of reassembling everything. learned that the hard way. 😄
Yes, that is extremely helpful. I found out my stopper can be removed without playing with the mechanism under the sink, so it was really easy to clear any clogs or to replace the stopper.
Thanks a bunch. I became a widow woman June of 2020. I'm proud of myself and will be expecting some sort of diploma from the RUclips authorities. Seriously though I've installed a serpentine belt on a 92 Chevrolet Silverado stepside, fixed my washer, changed o-rings on outside faucets, installed breakers and put a used refrigerator in my barn for my beer. Just about covers it. Oh and a bathroom sink stopper replaced. 💪

Thank you for this video, it really helped, and I did not have to buy any parts, as the plumbing installer adjusted everything wrong. I did find that setting the stopper to removable did not create a tight seal when lowered (unless I manually pushed the top of the stopper in the sink down tightly with my finger), so I had to have the pivot rod inserted through the stopper to get a good seal automatically.

If you can't get replacement parts & have to replace the drain, I have some videos showing how to install a new bathroom sink drain. Sometimes it's hard to loosen the nut on the old drain. I had use a hacksaw to cut the nut on the old drain on the sink shown in the video.

Thanks for this. Sink hasn’t drained in forever. Husband’s too busy to get to it. Quarantined at home now. Cleaned it out myself and am using this to put it back together. DEFINITELY going to make it removable since my long hair is apparently what caused the trouble in the first place. Easy clean out from now on!

Thank you! My stopper plug and pivot rod aren't damaged, but I could not figure out WHY I could remove the plug and couldn't simply install it back onto the rod without additional steps... I thought I had done something funny but it turns out it was just installed to be removeable! This video gave me a better understanding of the mechanism.

Thank you for this. I watched today, and quickly eliminated the option of calling a handyman. Dove in, and even though the hardware store replacement part had a smaller diameter, I combined the old part with a portion of the new part and got it done. I owe it to you! Cheers 🍷🍷💥
