what is the common ratio of Base and Subase course in terms of Sand, Gravel and Soil. Can you show me any international standard on how to measure such volume?
That is an okay way of doing it but you may be better off setting screed pins and using a rod stick if you really want a uniform thickness. When it's small footage stuff like this it doesn't have such a compounded effect but it allows for a tighter bid and a better sub-grade
The sound of the Hertz Engine is in my heart beat. Those Engines are next to none and they never let you down and deliver consistently for demanding jobs.Though the engines are rare in the market, they command alot of respect. For me i call them semi automatic diesel engines. When they sense trouble they stop instead of doing a major engine damage. but the video ended abruptly before the tail end of the project. kindly replay compaction.
how much time do you spend compacting without special testing tools to get a pretty good result? And how long would one spend compacting R.A.P. as compared to normal aggregate? I have to compact some RAP to go under a concrete slab that my mobile home is going to be permanently attached to. I want to do a good job, but I don't have special tools. Also, my compactor is the hopping type. Is that bad? Thanks for any replies. I'm just a homeowner trying to do a good job (and pass inspection...lol)
Hello! Compaction time is dictated by the material soil being compacted, the inherent moisture level and the compaction equipment used. A quick field test to check compaction in a small residential application could be the driving of an 8" spike into the compacted base material. A good amount of effort and force should need to be applied while hammering with a 3 lbs maul or hammer. If the spike is driven into the aggregate fairly easily it is not compacted enough. Thank you!
6 inches overkill.. ad water before you run the compactor and a 6 million pound plate compactor is wayyy to much .. lol Can’t argue with the quality, or someone who goes all out.. I’m just saying you get same results using 3 inch base compacted with a machine you can almost lift into your truck by yourself..
Basic Wrench so when your doing a large driveway or massive project which requires perhaps a 12" - 24" base your going to mess around doing three inch lifts and potentially fail a density test or have a potential repair all to use your baby compactor? Do everyone a favor and stay away from the hard scape industry with that attitude.
Man that compactor is an absolute beast.
Only guy on the planet earth that is wearing white khaki pants on a job site prepping to pour concrete.

12,000 pound plate compactor?!
What's it made out of? Neutron star material?
Matthew Kahler i thought the exact same thing
@@tommypearce9967 it puts out 12,000lbs of compaction.. it doesn't weigh 12k. Dumbass
12,000 lbs of compaction force.. looks like a 1,000 lb unit.

Nice Video
About to compact the front right now
Is it ok to mix that material with cement?
Bucketful of crapp will do it ..
Some BULLSHITT OR COW DUNG ...
CHICKEN SHITT IS THE BEST !!!
Billy Mays is that you?...

5 years later, how did the job turn out?
How much price
I'm just task avoiding. Otherwise I have to dig more trench.

The compactor has a flux capacitor also
Shame it didn't show the finished job :(
Perhaps it was a cockupp...
2 ore pah ndrpre
Guys full of s&@#
3/8ths and 10 foot y'all need the metric system for real
Nah, it's designed by idiots for morons like you to use.
