As a drone pilot I very much appreciate the multiple drone angles, the combination between slow motion, regular speed, and hyperlapse, and the HDR colors with sunset in the background not blowing out the sky. Absolutely beautiful on many levels, edited to the music. Excellent video, something to Aspire to
I sailed recently on the "Benchijigua Express". Amazing technology, very fast and comfortable. Its hull form was adopted for the US Navy's Independence class littoral combat ships, built by Austal USA. 12 are in service (two earlier prototypes have been retired).
Great novel launch! The launch looked like there was something missing , but when you look close at about 1.25 you can see them wheel/push it onto a horizontal platform that is actually a wedge shape sitting on a typical sloped marine railway . As they then slide this wedge shaped carriage down the slope into the water it eventually just floats off with the ship staying horizontal the entire launch . The light weight and flat bottom center hull of this Aluminum ship allows them to do this and saves building the boat on a sloped surface as was common In the past. (A ship this size could not be launched over an edge as it would put too much stress on the hull) . Building sideways uses more dock edge and the extra width would make it hard to do a typical sideways launch with the big splash. Nice innovation guys! Cheers Warren
I would rather turn one of these into a personal yacht than some of the actual mega yachts I have seen! This has room for tennis courts, go cart track indoors, and so much open space above deck.
@roguemale TheOne&Only It's common the world over for ferry services to be cancelled in rough weather. I wonder if it is because the ships can't handle it or if it's the potential of hundreds of people all getting sea sick. Could also be because of the car deck, if cars can move in rough weather the insurance claims will outweigh the fares paid.
@roguemale TheOne&Only Austal make trimaran littoral combat ships for the US navy from aluminium, I would expect the US navy would insist the ships are capable of operating in the worst sea conditions as war time operations can't wait for calm waters. A ferry trimaran would be to a lower spec, but it sound's like it's mainly damage to the vehicles and sea sickness that restrict rough sea operations.
@@peterschmidt1453 Plus mission completion. Our joint aim is to invest the littoral, and to direct accurate and deadly fires on our joint enemy. Kill him! Until there is no more war, but peace.
Wow quite the ship. I would like to see the craftmanship of something like this before I die. We all have to have dreams even thought they are impossible.
Very 👌the sunset at the last part was lit. I've always dream to work for Austal as someone from Balamban and witness launching of.ships and any sea vessel.❤
Deam big, its not impossible for such achievements. Great efforts and may it bring joy to the dreamers and the people who will travel on this magnificent canoe!
You know, if I were a gazillionaire, I think I would much rather have one of these finished to my tastes than a typical yacht. Trimarans are hellacool!
I was lucky enough to watch Incat launch one of their fast ferries last week and they have their boat out of the shed and in the water in about 30 minutes.
For me, this is more a novel monohull design. Why? The configuration is not mainly for righting moment but for reducing resistance whilst retaining stability for the displacement. 4 Water jets?!? Wish I were captain! Godspeed Bajamar Express!
Fred Olsen's Instagram. They posted some videos during their route back home through the Indian Ocean, the Mediterranean and the Red Seas and the Suez canal, even their encounter with a spanish frigate near Somalia.
Beautiful video but unfortunately it never shows the actual launch. It goes from a shot where the call is still way above the water to a shot where it's being towed period what happened to the launch you promised?
hahahaha, Bajamar is a little coast town here in the Tenerife island. If you would translate it literally from spanish to english it would be "lowsea".
It is to the great shame of our Federal Government that the world class international ship construction being done in Henderson is not properly acknowledged or applauded.
paul smith most collins class subs built here and so will most of the new subs be. We still build trains in Australia. There are several companies that do. Some Victorian trains are built here but NSW bought some cheaper ones from overseas.
Australia is also building Naval ships , 9 Hunter Class Frigates using their own domestic steel in South Australia . Australia will soon be the 9th largest economy .

I'm proud to be part of Austal team doing Floor covering.
That's cool 👍.
Maximus_741 you have good reason to be proud
Me to brother
really cool! Proud of you.
And rightly so . Pride in ones job is essential for a good product.
What a machine.........this has to be one of the most modern ferry designs!
The workers must be extremely proud competing on the world stage. Well done to all.
Congradulations from fellow shipbuilder in Vancouver CANADA hope you have more on the books !
Such a Amazing Ferry just by looking at the hull you can tell it's a hight-speed ferry

What a stunning craft and launched perfectly and professionally with no dramas.
Finally someone has learned how to launch a ship without that ungodly splash.

God totes hates splashes.

I'm impressed with the small size of the facility being used to produce such an impressive ship.
Genial
This is a stunning, breathtaking design. The view from behind the stern is particularly impressive. Great job!
What a fabulous looking vessel, and made by a fabulous company.
Wedge on wedge with rails. Brilliant and simple.
Beautiful boat, too!
Australia does not manufacture much these days, but these ships by Austal and Incat are amazing.

Toutes mes felicitations au chantier naval pour cette imposante construction
I believe that Austal Shipyard are the best in modern maritime vehicles especially on catamaran and the tricat design.

What a coincidence that this was at my recommendations and I live in the Canary Islands where it's going to operate! :)
Is that in Spain?

four waterjet propulsion ship!
how great it is..
Yup. Thought the same thing. Pretty bad ass.
So they can launch a boat without just dumping it off the dock.

No trip to canaries is complete without hearing Fred leave the harbor. The previous ship engine sounded so nice.

I love usung these catamarans shiping between the islands in the canarias. Its an option everyone loves.
Bet this craft would be a great foundation of an ultimate luxury yacht. Big enough without being 'needy'.
I work at astral USA and love it... I hope we get to build on of these.

wonderful ship. I would like to have more information on speed, fuel consumption and range. Where is it used?
Surely in this day and age you can build a boat that doesn’t look like it needs a trip to the panel beaters to straighten it out!
Listing to port as well
@@glennthaule5853 Umm , did yo not notice the flotation devices on the sides ? it was to keep it high in the water waiting for full high tide
exactly what i notice as well, why are the sides so wavy... NOT That I can do ANYYY better..but, there must be a way.

Wow just wow ....... what a amazing feat of engineering !
Take Note NZ Govt this is what’s needed for the Cook Strait crossings not the old heaps we presently have
Love the engineering and efficiency of delivery... Massively impressive...
A great ship looks so cool wish we had this on the Philippines
Isn't it ironic that we build these vessels in Cebu yet not one plies between the many islands of the Philippines.

Awesome design. I hope a couple Joeys get to come along on the maiden voyage for good luck.
Just saw this.... Is it just me, or is there a slight list to port - maybe 4-5 degrees?
I want these guys and gals building my next house. Love it...
I believe there are still more coming order from Fred.Olsen for this kind of ship.. This is the best ferries i presumed..

So as for and launch. Seems like a bit was missing from to video. Great job.
Smoothest launch I ever saw...
Every big ship especially passenger ships should be built in this form which is more safer than traditional form.
That's one badass looking boat
Saw this ship dock in Tenerife in February quite the ship if I do say so myself
So amazingly beautiful!!!
I cant even imagine something that big moving with jet drives
And move they do.....North of 40kts.....o.0

I kept expecting something to go wrong. I mean, this is RUclips. But noooo, it was so smooth.
Is there a video of how it got from Western Australia to the Canaries? A journey far longer than its regular run.
To the other side of the world literally :- D

Very impressive ship !
Wow beautiful boat
What interested me more, were those two grey-hulled police patrol boats, moored next to the ferry. They looked quite capable of offshore work.
Guardian class patrol boats being built for Fiji. You can see one of them is call Savenaca.
This ship would make an awesome combat ship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful video but unfortunately it never shows the actual launch. It goes from a shot where the call is still way above the water to a shot where it's being towed period what happened to the launch you promised?
Wow what a beast, I can look at this whole day
when the Speedboat reincarnates as a cruise ship
