My first thought was they were building a new version of the SR.N4 (Mountbatten class hovercraft), but I couldn't see the hard points for mounting the propeller pylons.
now think about all the bolts that have to fit perfectly all over the boat. All corners must be perfect, all lengths must be perfect....truly amazing engineering.
Great to see such impressive manufacturing in Western Australia. Beyond the vessel itself, the planning and logistics of moving and joining the ship's components must be incredibly precise and complex.
It all looks so simple but it's a choreography of precision engineering and timing on an enormous scale, hat's off to the men who did this, I really enjoyed watching this!
@@murcielagosky If it wasn't for Western Australia there would be no Australia. Can't finance a country selling soy lattes and wearing top knot hair cuts.
Credit where credit is due; that was one helluva coordinated lift-and-set! I'll bet there were a lot of sweating foreheads while that thing was up in the air!
Fascinating. (I've got no idea why the algorithm sent me here, but still appreciate it.) Now I'm looking forward to seeing it slicing through the waves. Also, I gotta do a shout-out for the people in charge of the remarkable synchronization of those cranes lifting the passenger deck: 8 cranes, but still flat as a tack. Great engineering, but exceptional teamwork, kudos people.
Well that was an interesting choice my RUclips, having said that I did find fascinating. When I saw the thumbnail I thought it was a new hovercraft under construction only to realise it was the bridge section of a new high speed ferry. Would be nice to see the launching ceremony.
@@VoklstWestie Austal is actually an Australian company but they have yards in Mobile Alabama, Philippines and Vietnam. I was wrong, this is the Henderson Australian yard...
lol, been in residential/commercial building AND recreational sailboat building(50+ footers).....now when you have to disassemble your building to build the boat...that's a dedicated builder...cool to watch
The lift was great, now comes the hard part. My heart goes out to the fitters and welders who built and about to join the superstructure to the deck. Be safe out there friends and good job. Austal USA. 👍
my main gripe is that there's so much staccato editing and fast motion that-- if you're truly interested---you cannot actually see anything. Very Annoying. It is as if they're saying "dont actually think about this...just say Wow, and move on to the the next click-bait."
I first thought the yellow portion was a separate hover craft!
yeah at 0:50!!...but it's just a forklift.
I thought the same.
"Biggest damn hovwrcraft I've ever seen. "
Lol
It looks like a spaceship, I love it.
My first thought was they were building a new version of the SR.N4 (Mountbatten class hovercraft), but I couldn't see the hard points for mounting the propeller pylons.
Ako rin putek hahahaha
The cranes coordination is something!!! Very tense day I would imagine!.. great work
I was thinking the same thing myself. Incredible skills being demonstrated by all.
Depends on leadership, with good leaders this sort of operation can be laid back and enjoyable. With uptight stressed out ones it can really suck.

Didn’t see that coming. I thought I was looking at a hovercraft.
That was fun!
Hiii how are u

looks like a starting sequence from a star trek movie , amazing
Exactly what I was thinking. Like a spaceship being built. I guess the start trek movies were probably just imitating this, but still...
Watching this makes me proud to be a West Australian, what an amazing job, well filmed!
they do beautiful work . big achievers !
Fucken oath!
You know, if it wasn't for us East Australian there will be no West Australians!!!!!!
@@murcielagosky If it wasn't for Western Australia there would be no Australia. Can't finance a country selling soy lattes and wearing top knot hair cuts.
Looks like Austal might be going for a bigger construction shed in the near future. Nice build.
We use these brilliant ships often here in the Canarian Archipelago.Beautiful tech. Thanks for that.
I would love to meet the mind that ponders this in their head at night, when they cant sleep!!!
Bravo!
That was beautiful to watch, almost like a ballet, such synchronization. Beautiful!!
“No problem, you just need three hangars and eight cranes. That’s all there is to it”
A M A Z I N G !
@homer randall I did a few dual-lifts when I was young, that was a challenge in itself. 8 cranes are - as I wrote: amazing!
homer randall
A breed apart. Cheers to that 👊🏼
These are the people we need to put in charge of building Jaegers.
Love how the 'Maran' is put onto the 'Tri' and thus becomes a Trimaran.
Very impressive building technique!! Great job Austal!!
That was way more fun than I expected....
The music was dramatic.. like watching a spaceship in space dock. But in real life.. more please.....more!!!
What a LIFT! Everything about this video is impressive. Well done to all those involved 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Credit where credit is due; that was one helluva coordinated lift-and-set!
I'll bet there were a lot of sweating foreheads while that thing was up in the air!
I watched Hull #43 roll out of the factory in....1994? One hell of a journey for this Aussie superstar company.
Wowy wow, talk about a coordinated effort among 8 cranes. Holy moly !!!!!
Cant wait to see the launch
Seeing humans build things like this makes me proud to be human again.
Disappointed.
@@rnbspowa7of69 honestly same
Me too, until I look at the current condition of the US constitutional form of government.
Amazing work from all involved, including the editor of this video❤👍🏻
Humans rule👏👏
Thank you very much! Appreciated
Wow didn't see that coming thought the yellow part was the boat but then turned in to something even more incredible
As a shipbuilder from Vancouver CANADA well done gents that is some great planning logistics and execution
The Yellow bit alone would make an awesome hovercraft.
Like a giant meccano set. I had one when I was a little kid but never had the instructions for one of these, damn.🤔😳
Wow! What a beast.
Ingenious invention! Very impressed!
That is amazing. Great shots - thanks.
Nice job congratulations!
Now THAT, is what I call an awesome post, thank you
This is amazing. Great shot,too.
So now ya got to subscribe to Austral to find out when they launch this beauty. Nice trailer.
Yesterday we went from Tenerife to Gran Canaria with the Bajamar. Great ferry!
That boat is magnificent!
Amazing engineering with great cinematic production!

Wow !! Very clever. I hope we get to come on the shakedown cruise.
impressive operation!
that was an impressive display
Wow !!!!!, that's a hard work !!! 💪
Already in love with this boat 💗
0:50 I thought the fork lift was going to try and raise the whole upper deck 😂
Hiii how are u
@l o l hiii
Canada here...IM PROUD...Good on ya Mate's..!
That thing is insane!!!
Wow!!!! Encore!!!!
Amazing lift!

emgee44 I thought the same thing 🤣👌
Same....lol...i even read it and was like OMG its a giant Star Wars land speeder
Thought the same .
Same here, hovercraft. There full of surprises.
Yep, me too! Hovercraft for tourist pitstops!
This video left me with more questions than answers
Beautiful! I’d love to ride in one of these some day … 👏🏽👍🏽
Cool job, amazing movie!
Amazing job. Congratulations. And great footage.
Impressive!!
I've been on that boat several times. It is a great ship.
Hell yeah man!!! Get’er done boys!!! 🤟👍
Congratulations Austral...MADE IN AUSTRALIA! keep it up; more please! Best wishes from Goulburn NSW.

BTW that's some very clever use of building space.
Can someone please build these poor lads a proper covered dry dock...

That is amazing.
Those cranes!!!!! Should be it’s own video on them!
What a kick-ass boat!!!
How to solve the old problem of "er, boss, how do we get it out through the door ...?"
1:48 looks like something out of Star Trek - the Enterprise in a docking bay. Wow.
I'm so impressed.
What a pretty sight
Very impressive - great video.
Impressive piece of engineering.
A engenharia é perfeita 🤩

Simply Beautiful
That's totally awesome
It's good to see something is built in Western Australia
You are doing grate product! Excellent💯!

That.....Was.....So.....Cool!😎
That is a cool ship.
Wow humans are so cool!
👍
Well that’s one way to build it! Maximising the space you’ve got to build bigger!
Looks like a friggin spaceship...

Amazing engineering. I assume it’s still under construction. I look forward to seeing the launch and sea trials.
Anyone else have no clue they were interested. Then get pissed when the video ends? RUclips can really mess with your emotuons
