      I feel same way about not measuring up to others. So much shame and embarrassment when other people are around. I have this weird tiredness and sleepiness just about daily. I’m also forgetful, so I’m not really good at remembering things. Exercise is good for the brain and dopamine but have to drink coffee to get myself on my treadmill. I wish I could be a good conversationalist, that’s my goal. Hopefully, one day.

    I like what you said at the end… similarly, my mantra the past 3 months has been: “Do WHAT I can, WHEN I can, IF I can, and to hell with everything else!" Not only has it helped my inner dialogue, but it reminds me that there are MANY reasons why I may not get something done, so I shouldn’t feel guilty for any of them! Thank you for this video and your channel :)

    Also, for the shower, having a shower head with different modes helps. Different streams can reduce sensory overwhelm. And for anything in your life that is difficult, find a new method/product for that.

    Nope. I have anxiety because the next day is Monday and I have to work all wk. It wears me out. So I only have weekends to organize home clutter. Sundays I’m get anxiety and can’t even continue what I was doing Saturday. Ugh, I can’t stand myselfz

    That "Fuck it" lesson is such an important one and so liberating. Sometimes just reminding myself to cut me some slack is the most powerful thing that I do in a day. Great vid - keep it up.

    Hi from Australia 🇦🇺 Thank you for this great video. As a 31 year old woman who was only diagnosed last year I never realised why everyday tasks seemed so hard. The Autistic side is so perfectionistic and wants everything done perfectly but the ADD side doesn't want to bother or gets bored. It's like a constant tug of war and I never know which is which 😓 Just interested to know if you were diagnosed with ADHD innatentive type or hyperactive type? Have you ever struggled with imposter syndrome as a woman with a late diagnosis?

      Just turned 30 at the end of January and recently just discovered I have PDA profile ASD, ADHD, and CPTSD which has caused severe agoraphobia. I understand how you feel!!! 💜

    One of the most relatable videos, for me, of the million I looked at today instead of all the lists of things I’ve put off for two months and have 4 days left to do..

    Awesome video! Some things that help me is noise cancelling Bluetooth wireless headphones. I can put on music or a special interest video and walk from room to room without interruption while I tidy. The noise cancelling aspect helps with the annoying sound of dishes rubbing together when I’m washing them. Another help is a kitchen timer. I don’t know why, but it helps in a positive way- like in 15 minutes, I can stop cleaning and go do what I want instead. Keep the to-do list very short. For me it’s just three things each day- sweep, do a step of laundry, wash the dishes. Once those are done, I don’t force myself to do anything else unless I actually want to. Just getting started is hard, so it helps to initiate the tasks when you’re already on your feet anyway- like if you get up to use the bathroom or heat your coffee. I often do my three chores while I have supper heating up.

    Thank you for this video! I’ve been trying to figure out if I’m neurodivergent for about a year now & I keep hitting dead ends with mental health professionals. They’ve diagnosed me with BPD and I don’t think it fits; it doesn’t explain everything. I think my problem is getting my point across. I struggle with showing my therapist evidence. I end up forgetting what I want to say to her & sometimes idk how to put things into words. This journey hasn’t been easy at all.

      I'm actually keeping a notebook. As I watch these types of videos I have a pen and paper so if anything rings a bell for me I write it down immediately. Many times I can't just pull up information and am always forgetful so this really helps me "remember" things. I plan to give it to my mental health professional as I go through this process

      Try to get a new diagnosis instead of BPD. Remove it if you can. BPD is highly stigmatized in the mental health community, and its more of a barrier to receiving proper medical care than it is a help. Unfortunately a lot of women with ASD are misdiagnosed as BPD.

    It’s so refreshing to hear a fellow autistic parent mention the difficulties of parenting. It feels like most content is geared toward Autistic kids. Actually maybe that is a good idea for a future video. Like how do you in a kind way ask your child for a lower volume without them feeling silenced exc. just an idea I like your videos k thanks

    I use calendar for my appointments all the time. Thinking about checking out a good list app for lists on my phone. Something that helps me is brain dumping in my journal to let it all out so you don’t explode. I have both autism and ADHD and trying to find tips for both of them.

    Hey! Thank you for the video, i know you mean well, but i'm not really sure how a list could help executive dysfunction (it's amazing if it helps you but not all types of executive dysfunctions are about working memory or memory as a whole), when i'm experiencing executive dysfunction i know what needs to be done, i just... Cannot do it. I don't know what to start with, what will take the most energy etc. and most importantly i don't know how to just launch myself and get started. I haven't really seen any helpful tips regarding this, and I was wondering if you had any

      Dont write a list of everything you have to do, write a list of the FIRST FEW steps. So instead of "clean room" it could be "grab dishes from desk, throw napkins in trash, put that pile of clothes in hamper" and nothing more. That way, you still have a choice of where to start but the length of the list wont overwhelm you. Once you've crossed off all the first few steps, then think about the next few and add those to the list. Ya may find the list isnt necessary once you start
      Also, legit just count down from 5 or something and then on zero, throw your body towards the thing. That gives you five seconds to enjoy the comfort of the couch and you're not deciding to get up now, youre gonna get up "later". But once you start counting, you cant slow it down or stop the count. Dont think, literally just fling your body in the general direction. That's all I've found that works

      Thank you for pointing this out! I’ve been feeling so off lately and thyroid issues could totally explain it. I’m currently 5 months postpartum, 4 in the video and I know pp thyroiditis is totally a thing. Time to schedule some blood work.

      @@neurodivergentme Aw I didn’t know you recently gave birth! That’s wild and amazing 😃 I have Tokophobia so I am always impressed by women giving birth! I hope you feel better soon, in the UK they only diagnose thyroid illness when it’s very far gone, I think the ‘normal’ lab ranges are smaller in US so it gets diagnosed sooner, in theory x
