    Can you please tell me which mixie you are using? Whenever I grind in mixie it is not smooth, i have Preethi brand

      I regularly use preeti mixie. I also use Nutri Ninja Pro blender. Both of them do a nice job!

    Very nice video. Thanks Sowmya. Noted everything. But I do little bit variation. First, I won't use jeeragam while grinding Sambar Powder. And next, while I am grinding Rasam Powder, I add horsegram (kollu) instead of tuvar dal, bcos I add smashed boiled tuvar dal water in Rasam. That's why.
    This is how I am preparing.

    Fine.being myself a chef in a star hotel,I watch your videos often.can you please tell us the right quantity of ingredients in Kgs and grams when showing making powders like sambar, rasam,and puliogare. Here in Karnataka,we use guntur chillies and byadgi chillies for good colour.and we use turmeric stack.Thank you.

    In the ingredients list, are you using a regular 8 ounce cup measure for Rasa podi, to measure the chilis, coriander seeds and toor dhal?

    Madam please say the basic difference between both powders. I feel you are not adding gram dhal and turmeric powder in rasam powder. Correct?

      Yes for rasam powder we don't add gram dal. Also the toor dal quantity is more for rasam powder than for sambar powder. Next difference is the texture, For sambar powder the texture is very smooth but for rasam powder the texture is coarse 😊🙏🙏🙏

    Sister can you please tell me how many cups of red chilli powder can I add to Sam bar powder and Rajam powder too.because when I add red chillies I’m not able to get correct taste. Please. God bless you and have a good day.

      I have never tried with red chili powder. Sorry not able to guide correctly. I have used only whole red chilies

      If red chill powder is too spicy, you add 1/2 cup with the whole masala grinded powder. If it is normal spicy, you add 3/4 cup.
      Everything, according to taste. Trial and error. That's all. ☺👍

    Super sambar is not a problem
    But your rasa podi is very useful

    We differentiate sambhar podi and rasa podi with extra melagu smell in rasa podi.

    Akka,you didn't use byadagi red chillies as it gives good colour to the sambar powder.this is just for your information.we,here in Mandya,we use mallige or button chillies for nice smell.

      We usually add to tamarind juice so not adding in powder. But if you want you can include🙏🙏🙏😊

      We usually add it to tamarind juice while making sambar that will have even more fresh aroma than grinding with sambar / rasam powder 😊🙏

      Given here is the list of Sambar Powder ingredients in grams
      Red Chillies 350gms
      Coriander Seeds 350gms
      Channa dal (Bengal Gram Dal) 1/2 Cup
      Thur Dal 1 Cup
      Fenugreek Seeds 2 teaspoon
      Peppercorns 3 tablespoon
      Cumin Seeds 1 tablespoon
      Turmeric Powder* 1 tablespoon
