You are first person I've seen actually knows how to prune a tomato plant. Leaving too many leaves just directs energy into the leaves, gentle pruning of extra leaves give more energy to the fruit. Kudos!
But a note on that for others reading this, pruning may be bad if your growing a tomato outside and you have very hot days-- the leaves shade the tomatoes so pruning for outside plants would depend on your weather.
Others have told me to cut all the suckers off, which makes no sense to me. I did that on a plant, and then it was suddenly over 7 feet tall and only one stalk! Leaving the suckers and letting them flower should give a broader plant and more fruit. I will do as you are doing in this video and choose suckers to leave.
    I love this video!

I had 2 little aerogarden tomato plants producing more tomatoes than I could eat for 300 days. Usually I clone new plants, but these got stems too thick for the aerogarden and the plants died. I was giving tomatoes to the neighbors. it was fun.

The only pest I often get inside are mites. I use preventive measure by keeping my grow area clean at all times. If I do get them, I spray with a sulfur spray by bonide.

But if its healthy and productive it doesn't matter. Maybe the higher amt is for like slicing or beefsteak tomotoes, not for dwarf plants.
