I'm here with my family for the first time having a little vacation. Brought my bike to get some early riding in tomorrow before family activities and this video just gave me so much information! Going to try this area tomorrow for sure!
@@SingleTrackSurgeon The gate was open and I parked right where skyline runs through the lot. Did a few runs down Pirates, Upper and Lower, then did about 4 miles in, 4 miles back to the car on Skyline. Such great riding out here. I live in Vegas so its mainly dusty, dry, rocky, hot...but fun trails so it was nice to ride somewhere new. Thanks again!
This is such a fun area. We often use this as a warm-up before riding the park or as our last run. I'm jealous I haven't ridden my MTB up there yet this season.
Sub’d! Great video! Rode there and the park last Sunday for the 1st time.. Definitely got lost, never found fall line. aAthough from your video we were right there..
You were right there! Hopefully you can find it easily next time. I will be doing a full Snow Summit overview where I will include all of the off resort trails like Fall Line, and some of the lesser known trails like Dickies.
Could you do an update on these trails as it relates to access between National Forest and Snow Summit ownership? The white gate at then end of clubview is still closed as of 5/19/24. I was told by a local bike shop go to the other end by knickerbocker...it was locked too. Bike shop went on to say, they think snow summit has purchased and now making it part of the bike park?
I first rode Skyline and Fern in 2015 on a full rigid, and it seemed pretty mellow, but I rode up Fern in 2017 on a full suspension, and it was waaaay chunkier. Almost seemed like they unbuffed Fern for the Enduro. This video got me hyped to ride Skyline again.
You are totally right! After the initial build both trails have eroded away a lot to expose the rocks. And I really like that they are letting that happen, while seemingly doing work to keep the corners a good shape.
I’m planning to get a Snow Summit pass for my 8 y.o. and I to hit green/blue trails all summer. Can you take the chairlift and access these trails from the top of the resort, and then ride it down back to the resort? Or do you have to ride this separately?
Great question. These are all easy to access from either lift. My wife would come with me when she was just learning and these, along with going green, were the only trails she would ride.
@@SingleTrackSurgeon sweet, thanks for the info! That's a great place for a beginner to learn, while allowing a more intermediate rider still have fun.
@@cassysamel3914 I couldn't agree more. Some riders shy away from these trails because they feel like they don't offer as much fun. I seem to think that they just aren't looking hard enough for cool lines, and they don't mind the crowds on party wave :D
Whats the actual name of this place? I put southshore in my phone and it says it's permanently closed. And I type skyline but it looks like a hikers trail.
Interesting order since most trails have similar width and exposure I don't usually think about that being a dominating factor. But exposure should certainly be higher than features, because a mistake would result in higher consequences.
That is a fantastic point, and I never really thought about that. There are some trails on Trail Forks that are listed as uphill primary that seem to be rated only on the climb difficulty. Would be interesting to have a hybrid rating system like that.
Fantastic video, I appreciate the time you put in to fully share where/how to ride these trails
Thanks for watching, and thank you for the kind words. I'm planning on creating similar videos for many other trail networks.

Glad it helped! Enjoy the trails!

@@irollerblade89 No problem, sounds like a fun ride!
Great video. Made me want to go ride!
Then it did exactly what it was supposed to do. Glad you enjoyed it!
great details of the trails! keep it up
Thank you so much!

Totally agree I usually end with either Skyline or Fall Line myself. Longer runs, that are the perfect ending run on a long bike park day.

Just stumbled onto this channel when looking for cushcore reviews…. Quality content and only 2k subscribers… get it together RUclips algorithm
Welcome aboard! Thank you so much for the kind words. I've been slacking, but I'm trying to change that.
Good stuff man 🤙
Appreciate it! I'm trying to get back in the saddle and do a bit more content for the Tube.
@@SingleTrackSurgeon sweet. I’ll watch them

Sweet riding 🔥 thanks for video 😊
Thanks for watching Javi!
Great video. Super helpful, thanks! What bike are you riding?
I was riding my Rocky Mountain Altitude in this trail tour, and I also have a Forbidden Druid that I ride for my trail bike.
@@SingleTrackSurgeon Nice!
Is your Trailforks route available for this?
Trying to get the direction correct to show the whole route. Didn't want to have to draw the GPS in by hand.
Is skyline mtb trail open year round, weather permitting or does it have a hard close date in alignment with the park?
Certain trail access may be limited based on parking spots. But if the trails are dry let it fly 🤘🏼
Thanks! I just bought a cabin up there so until they get more snow, time may be better spent exploring the mountain bike trails!

Curious to know: Where would I park each car if I wanted to ride the OLD Fall Line trail? Any suggestions?
The highest you could go would be the top clearing where the large sign is. Then pick up near the bottom around one of the camp sites.

Skyline is more of an XC option for sure, if you check the link down in the description you can see the whole trail network.
Why no e-bikes? wth?
Width of tread, exposure then difficulty of features. Incline should be last. A black should all be rideable just not every time.

Climbs should be differentiated with decents as far as rating there level of black, blue , or green.....I mean no one likes a steep climb
