Ahhh, good 'ol luge! That's one classic SoCal trail that's a must to ride for sure! Love the drone footage and have been often thinking of trying that myself. But what stops me is the dread of carrying that darn thing around my rides lol.
Checked off the Old Camp box 2 weeks ago. That 540W Decoy battery came limping back with 1 bar and 1 mile DTE. Luge after Old Camp was white knuckle fatigue at its finest!
This trail is a high blue at best. Trail ratings don't change based on how fast you go, that's s reflection of your skill level not trail difficulty. There are no black features and while there are a few berms with exposure behind them it's basically a few rocks and turns with no steeps, drops, rock gardens or rollers. Lower artskool is s better example of a double black local trail
What exactly are mountain bike gloves? Can I use the Hardy Performance Work Gloves from Harbor Freight for $5? I also need one of those helmets that protect the jaw
They call it red rock wilderness in oc parks. I think it's close to the Irvine lake in Silverado canyon. Waiting your your trail guide to then get out there!
There's such a sense of accomplishment from doing the loop on a real bike. I get a feeling of sadness seeing the ebike. It seems pointless, yet so many new riders have it as their only trail experience. You get credit for going back to get the drone footage on the other bike.
The best way to ride the ludge is not to ride it. 4.5 mile climb with a half mile of down hill and zero features. It's a complete green beginner trail. Go ride laguna canyon instead. Much better trails
The luge is definitely tame compared to the XC Olympic course. Super smooth, groomed and very small less than 1 foot drops. Luge is an XC trail now…. But I have to agree if you are complaining about that climb might as well sell the MTB… pedaling up mountains is MTB..I also agree that you should stay within your comfort zone regardless, you act a fool and you are off the edge.
You should stop exploiting all the trails for your own financial gain. The dirt bike industry doesn’t do this and neither should the mtb community. People need to find the trails on their own

Haha yeah it sucks carting it around for sure. And thanks!
Nice video and cool editing, thanks for the ride-along
always a good time at the ludge with my hardtail 7 speed 😁😅
Hey neighbor, I’m ready to give this a try, happy to see e-bikes are allowed. Thanks for the cool guide videos
Hope you enjoy!
This trail looks so sick !!!
Was pretty rough a couple weeks ago. Major arm pump. Such a good trail though.
Excellent ride/trail. Back in the day(70s) I used to ride motorcycles in that area. It was at that time, Escape Country.
Very cool!

You said it!
Great vid and great advice about playing it safe, and staying within your comfort zone! It's all about having fun!!
Thanks!!!!🤗
I drive different truck trails out here to deliver HazMat, people get upset about it. Truck trails are only maintained because of the trucks.
That’s great. Cool to know as well. I was referring to the singletrack descent.
One of my favs
Agreed!!!

I NEED a San clemente Dog park trail guide ASAP lol
LOL, it's always changing. By the time we get one made the trails change.
@@MTBMOR at least a general guide lol. I was there once trying out a Yt decoy and couldn’t find ant of the good trails
Thanks for the video Tony. Do you know if the Luge connects to Whiting Ranch?
Yes they do if you cross santiago road. im planning to make a video on this soon.

nice work bud
Thanks 👍

What type drone are you using?
Skydio 2
Good video tony where is this trails?
Trabuco Canyon, CA
I just realized the appreciation song is from BOTW. 😂
Yep!!
Any video plans for the new red rock trails in the canyon?
The ones in OC? I haven’t really looked into them - I think I saw you need a reservation or something.

@blamerobb 👍
Do you have the Strava route this time?
If you search my Strava for luge you’ll find it. ✔️🫶🏼

how to ride the luge:
A) Get an E Bike
B) Boost mode (Eco or Trail really)
pretty easy to do. more fun. same workout
👍
Are those SKF seals on the fork? If so, do you notice a difference?
Yep. not really haha.
The most overrated trail in So Cal
Haha

Pshh
It's like an F1 track. Smooth. Go for best lap time.
If your issue is a 4.5mi climb, it might be time to sell the bike and get some golf clubs bozo 😊
@@TheOutsiderMTBFr tho or the top of the world

Exploiting? Or helping get more people on bikes? These are public trails, not secret unsanctioned private terrain.
@@TheOutsiderMTB Don't listen to that kook. These aren't surf spots.
