Fun fact: The FLoop dates back to '81-'83 when the owner of a new bike company, (Mantis,) connected easements and horse trails to make the Loop. His name is Richard Cunningham. Years later he moved to BC and started a website called pinkbike.
@@NoBrakes23 Pinkbike! I had no idea. Thanks for sharing that.
TIL !
Amazing coverage and side trails of the loop! Thank you keep riding!
Thank you!
Still love the Loop. Been riding it for 25+ years. Super fun ride.
I agree, it’s one of my favorite trails. Thanks for your feedback! Any other trail recommendations?
Thanks for the awesome video! Amazing how you can talk and ride! Keep sharing! Thanks
Thank you! It’s a lot of heavy breathing… lol
Thanks for posting this video. Welcome back 🎉
Thank you! Glad to be back
Great coverage of the classic "floop"!
Awesome thank you!
I first rode this around year 2000. Going left @29:29 was the main route then. A pretty tough climb.
You show some great side quests in the middle portions that are new to me after 50+ times there. Great video!
Nice man, thanks for watching. Happy to help. Ya that part of the trail is a tough climb. I should ride that part more often. Let me know if you have any recommendations.
Thanks for the directions and all the cool sidequests!
No problem, happy to help thank you for watching my video!
"Wow, I'm truly impressed by your biking skills and the way you navigate through different areas of Los Angeles! Your insights are incredibly valuable, and your extemporaneous speaking skills make the experience even more engaging. Keep up the fantastic work!"
Thank you!
Glad to see. A friend invited me to ride around there...and seeing no double blacks I have no interest.
Thanks for the feedback. Ya it’s easier trail for sure.
Why do your handlebars look like they’re on backwards?
Haha that’s the way it’s designed but it’s not backwards 😅
When you increase pre-tension on the suspension, do you basically lose suspension travel by that much?
To be honest it feels like it. I might have it done again cause it feels a little too stiff and my bike already felt stiff to begin with. I believe you lose a little bit of travel.
In theory, no, pretension on a coil should only adjust your ride height, i.e. "sag".
If the coil length is correct for the shock, you should have all the travel the shock was designed for available.
new to mtb/trails - when youre riding, is your seat post "up" or "down" ? (if its adjustable on the fly)
Ya so when your climbing typically you want the seat up and when going downhill you want the seat down. If you don’t have it you can buy a dropper post.
@@crisplife3 awesome thanks for the tip. i recently got a full suspension bike from a friend and transitioning from road to mtb.
im not too comfortable with crazy downhill speed and technical stuff yet.
do you have any reccomendations from xc riding in socal?
Is it me or does anyone that goes to the loop get a lot of thorns, this is my 3rd time and I’m always getting thorns punctures on my tires
It not just you, it happens to me. What part of the loop do you get the punctures?
@@crisplife3 I don’t know exactly where I got the thorns at. My son and I both of us got thorns. I’m afraid to go back, but we love this relaxing trail. I can’t afford going tubeless. I also hate aligning the disk brakes when tire tubes need to be replaced.
@@jefflodevico3151 ya I understand I would feel the same way.
I would prefer thorns. I’ve gotten nails the last two times I’ve gone. Usually after the lake
@@DanielReyes-sf3uw wow really that’s never happened to me there. Were you tubeless?
Why would you assume singletrack means nobody would be walking?
@@wormdamage Because it isn’t common on that specific part of the Fullerton Loop to have people walking.
Nope😮
@@davidpicou7758 Lol… not for you?
@crisplife3 I just bought a fat tire e bike and I did a big mountain bike trail in bigbear and I almost killed my self 🙃 but I'm still learning lol 😆
Fullerton loop is a good night ride….but dude you only have 65 subscribers what’s up with that
I haven’t tried a night there yet. I’m Working hard to grow my channel. Thanks for watching, hope you can subscribe.
This trail looks wack
@@connorweiss6623 it’s an easy trail meant for anyone. Any recommendations?
@crisplife3 thanks for the route beta and side quests. Can you park in the court parking lot during business hours?🤙🏼
@@chrisfamisaran your welcome, thanks for watching. Yes you can park there.
Not good for road cyclists, it’s gravel and more MTB I like Santa Ana River trail over Corona to Hunington Beach.
@@Expprods Ya for sure I agree. Thanks for the feedback. I’ll try out Santa Ana River Trail. Mtb is the best way to go on the Fullerton Trail.
@@crisplife3 You can do gravel on Santa Ana River trail but MTB will not be as much fun as Fullerton loop, another one of my favorite is Backbay Trail over starting point Santiago Canyon hill Tustin to Newport Beach, that’s a very cool trail.
@@Expprodsoh ok, is Backbay an easy trail?
@@crisplife3 yes it’s pretty flat I say beginners most of the trail for MTB folks fun can be at the start of the trail at Santiago Canyon and near the end at new port coast, other it’s pretty flat
@@ExpprodsI’ll check it out thanks for the recommendation.
Amazing coverage and side trails of the loop! Thank you keep riding!
Thanks for watching I appreciate the feedback
