But Taggart retired off screen and wasn't in 3 and Axel didn't even know he retired. This movie should have been rebooted sooner but u can't beat the dynamic he had with his captain Inspector Tod
By that logic Billy and Axel would have retired by now. Maybe Billy was more green than Axel. In the first one Axel isn't a rookie but also hasn't been a cop too long.

Things felt weird without the boys. I’m glad they’re back.
I don't yet know whether my nostalgia is beating my better judgement. It doesn't look horrible and even if it's just a forgettable but enjoyable two hours on a sunday I would count it a win.

Two of the writers (Tom Gormican, Kevin Etten) wrote The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, which had drama, comedy, and action and was a great movie!

Great to see Bronson Pinchot back as Serge. Beverly Hills Cop, Lethal Weapon, and Rush Hour should have a shared universe. Let's see Eddie Murphy, Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, Joe Pesci, Chris Rock, Chris Tucker, and Jackie Chan next to each other.

They're doing member berries again. Even BHC 3 did back in 1994 and with how poor the script was no wonder it failed..
Bad Boys For Life seems to have sparked an interest in bringing back these older action franchises. Mel Gibson is doing Lethal Weapon 5, Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are possibly doing Rush Hour 4, Nicholas Cage spoke about a possible Face/Off 2, and even Pierce Brosnan is interested in bringing back his version of James Bond as an older man.
The general nostalgia farming that Hollywood has been on did the work.
yeah they done Pierce dirty for his last Bond film, he deserves one more film as a proper sendoff.
The funny thing is that this trailer feels like the Bad Boys for Life trailer. Hopefully it’s just as good.

Beverly Hill Cop 3 - Wonder World is my favourite of the trilogy so far. I know Eddie didn’t like it and the audience reviews were very mixed, but it’s one of just a handful of films set inside an actual theme park. Its basically Die Hard in Disneyland and for that alone, its my favourite.

@@PhilM4 Not necessarily. Ive seen trailers that looked like trash and the movie ended up being amazing. It’s just more often than not they do tend to put most of the best parts in and leave nothing for the actual movie. If that’s the case this movie is going to be mid at best

As someone who saw the first three in the theatre, I can say without a doubt that I don't care about this at all and don't need another one. Eddie seems tired and like he's phoning it in. Hollywood isn't capable of recapturing the magic. Let it be over and create something new.
When Alex asks "did you like Golden Child too?" Im thinking "yeah, I liked Golden Child too, it was the 80s, we just enjoyed eddie murphy movies for what they were...eddie murphy in a movie. It was a much simpler time".
Skeptical ima say…i can already feel there bringing his partners “Taggert and Billy” back for 2 min cameos when there almost as crucial as Axel in the franchise…the “Serge and Jeffrey” cameos is cool but Jeffrey is in the trailer more than Taggert or Billy which is fine but…unless his partners are there for atleast half the time…im skeptical

In the synopsis he goes to LA because his daughter's life is threatened. But with films these few years his daughter will probably turn into the hero. It should be good none the less.

Too much action. Apart from the truck chase at the beginning of the first film, there was very little action. Just investigating & comedy. A bit of a shoot out at the end. This new one has gone full Michael Bay.

Literally the last 10 seconds of the trailer saved this from being a "I might check this out" too "I'll be there " - yes the action sequences can be fun and yes it Murphy's delivery is part of the charm but it's the three amigos they really sell the original three. The banter back-and-forth the different ways and going about doing work clashing especially back in the day. I don't know how that's going to translate today considering all three of them technically retired or should've been retired a decade ago but if the three of them are back for even one scene... I'll be there ;)

Looks cool, it is good to see the old cast (at least those who are still living), only problem I have is that Eddie has lost his iconic laugh. First noticed on "Comedians getting coffee". We want the old laugh back.
And possibly...Axel may have a new partner in the P.D. you didn't mention him.. and he's hard to recognize but Jospeh Gordon Levitt is on the trailer talking to Axel as he looks at his file. I've heard rumors he's a major supporting character.

The most important thing is that Jerry Bruckheimer is (also) producing, which is a good sign 🤞 (he did it with Top Gun, why not with this?). Also Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are not bad directors, they also did 'Bad Boys for Life', (also produced by Bruckheimer) that was when they were approached for doing Beverly Hills Cop, but of course Disney had to mess this up, by hiring them to do Bat-girl, which as you said went well... That's how Mark Molloy came up. Also Lorne Balfe is doing the music (Mission Impossible Fallout, Dead Reckoning, Bad Boys for Life). I don't know, I feel kinda hopeful, I think it's gonna be good.

I'm with Alex on this one, whoever made this trailer just knew what the fans of these movies wanted and they hit the nail in straight in the head. It had everything, the music (I even liked the modernization of the theme mixed with Notorious BIG), Rosewood and Taggart, the throwbacks... it got me in the first few seconds and now I can't wait for this. I hope it won't be a fuckup. EM said that he was waiting for the right script and Bruckheimer is on a roll reviwing his great franchises is great manner (Top Gun Maverick was pretty high up there).
Oh boy they came back from their adventures just to go on vacation again 🎉

I'm excited to see "Beverly Hills Cop" another sequel. I was around to see all the parts but part 1 will be always the part that started this 80' Detroit / Los Angeles cop comedy hijinx genre next to the "Police Academy series. I'm glad they brought back "Billy & Tagget" back also ...i be no good if they brought back "Serg" ....lol.

Candy Cane Lane sucked… Coming 2 America sucked… Eddie looks subdued and boring in this trailer. No signature laugh, they replaced the song with rap music, the bad guys are the cops? This movie will suck guaranteed, y’all are crazy if you think this is gonna be good.
I'm convinced that the movie is going to be really bad. I haven't had much faith in anything Murphy has done in the last decade. Coming2America was a bad straight to stream cash grab and this looks like more of the same.
The entire trailer is just one giant nostalgia trip. Axel Foley isn't even acting like Axel Foley. They make him look like some super cop, which was never displayed in the other movies.

Everything is nostalgia berries, too modern, too clean, with a little addition here and there to drive a wedge in Eddie's character plot added with a little betrayal twist at end. We've seen these types of films a dozen times, for that I'm out. It's a paycheck for these people and an insult to us, we shouldn't support garbage from Netflix like this. I'm tired of seeing my childhood ruined over and over.
Shit was great fun in 80s, but I don't think nostalgia is going to carry me through this one. It looks all the world like another Netflix consumable: inoffensive and completely forgettable.
If it wasn't on netfix I probably still wouldn't pay to see it in the theater even though I love this movie franchise.

It didn't make me laugh, but I know for a long time Eddie wanted to redeem the character after the horrible third one(I threw it in the garbage). My complaint is how modern movies are so over colour washed with blues and yellows now. Wtf ever happened to movies having natural hues?

Candy Cane Lane was just horribly written. That is a screenwriter problem and not so much an acting problem. Whoever wrote that crap should go write a children's book. That's why I'm hoping the script for this film is better written.

To bad you can't do real comedies anymore. I aways wanted to see a reboot of Police Academy. Especially after seeing 21 Jump street. I would definitely cast those two to he in that movie as well
What went wrong in the 90's ton not continue these good movies that could of gone better and better with the actors we loved. Probably corruption. Hope there is as little CGI as possible or it's a pass for me. Hope it has the old vibe and not the the new crappy movie feeling.
it's curated for netflix, it will be disappointing. There's too much censorship these days to allow for creative freedom and some edgy comedy to happen and this clip seems to yet again confirm it.
