The trader can sell stuff you may have trouble finding, like dripstone and mangrove propagules. And the fact he sells sand technically makes him a infinite sand source without needing to glitch out the end portal

Prismarine is a really nice looking block. Its the reason id go for these things. Building in survival can be kinda hard but its what you gotta do

The saplings from the wandering traders can actually be helpful if you can't find the biome they are in, like for jungle wood.

Sponges are actually really useful and a pretty hard block to get, back in the early days of minecraft we didnt have "wet sponges" they just created an underwater cube of infinite air to breathe in and didnt get wet.
