    An Italian player not playing for one of the Milan clubs foregoing Juve is huge. Him wanting to join a young hungry group of players who want to win shows his character. Along with everything he’s already been through at a young age, I can see this player becoming great. I hope to see him in North London for many years to come 🙏

      I agree with you. The continued development of the squad hinges on adding players who not only fit a physical and technical profile, but a mental one as well and he ticks all those boxes.
      This feels kind of like how when we signed Rice. It’s just a slam dunk in all categories.

    I am kinda sure Calafiori is being brought in to replace Gabriel because once Timber is fit, he automatically starts at LB, MA loves White too much to meddle. Calafiori doesn't invert so that rules him out of playing FB positions. Saliba is the best defender so he ofc stays.

    • @SmikeAmsher
      @SmikeAmsher 5 месяцев назад

      I doubt this. Arsenal will not sell Gabriel unless they get a huge offer. Timber started playing Lb because tierney was leaving and zinchenko and tomiyasu was unfit. I believe Timber came in to relief the right side of defence, white is playing way to many games at RB or it allows white to play cb and give saliba a rest

    It seems obvious to me that Mikel will ask Calafiori to do exactly what he does at Bologna.
    He will be our left sided Timber, yes he might line up at left back but he will be given the licence to roam, drive out from the back, progress the ball through the middle & pop up around the box. He is a midfielder that plays as a defender. He brings unpredictability on the ball & assurance off the ball.

  • @snaggiz
    @snaggiz 5 месяцев назад +1

    A backline of White, Saliba, Gabriel and Calafiori… I pity the attackers who are going to try to score on those four and that’s not to mention Rice who’s shielding them in front.
    Arteta is building a physically imposing team similar to the Invincibles. The future is bright.

    Nima’s description of how he sees MA’s story shows he gets it.
    RC IMO will help AFC cope better with mid blocks and to a smaller extent low blocks.
    He can drive into midfield positions to put the squeeze on teams who choose the game plan of sitting back and hit on the counter, keeping opposing players locked in to maintain pressure and gain the flanks. Being more advanced he can also help recover the ball up higher should the ball be lost to prevent turnovers. He will also help free Rice to venture forward and help produce overloads and get the ball into dangerous zones.
    His desire to run at opposing players can also carve out chances if opponents spread out to cover the flanks. Saliba and Gabriel has done some of these runs but IMO MA probably prefers to keep Saliba in defence and as cover in case RC fails.
    For games vs better teams, IMO Timber is preferred

    whilst i like Nima on the Italian Podcast he did talk some absolute bullshit on here about Arteta taking Arsenal where they are now "without splashing the cash" 😂 for truth Arteta has spent £870m. that converts to more than 1 BILLION euros 🤣🤣🤣🤣
    however, you are totally correct to be excited to sign Calafiori (if everything works), i am Roma supporter and he always had great potential. is just a disgrace that our ex-sporting director (the idiot tiago pinto now at bournemouth) thought it was good idea to sell him for only 2.5m and then replace him with Diego Llorente on loan from Leeds🤬
    if i am honest Calafiori is already too good for Arsenal, it is clear that he could play for Real madrid no problem but his agent wants his money immediately so he goes to yuor english money league.
    i hope he does well and that 1 day he returns to Roma

    • @GoonerBoiz

      Since when did Artera spend £870m? The reality is quite different and in fact, looking back over the total spend of Arsenal according to Transfermarkt reveals instead that approximately £590m prior to this summer.
