- King Charles III and Queen Camilla have been crowned in a spectacular Royal ceremony in which the Armed Forces played a major part.
More than 9,000 members of the UK Armed Forces were deployed on the day of the coronation, with about 7,000 of these on ceremonial duties.

As someone who marched on that day i want to say well done to all those who spent days with no days off in preparation for this. WE SMASHED IT!

Great job. It's always nice to feel proud of the country and the military.
In older generations it was well done lads we smashed the Germans. In this generation it’s we spent a week practicing on parade grounds pats on the back for all.

As a retired U.S. Navy enlisted I have encountered serving British soldiers, sailors and airmen in places from Hong Kong to Iraq. These are professional military personnel who are first rate in all their duties. So proud for them, they deserve all the praise they are receiving.

They also deserve the funding to get back to Tier 1. The so called ‘Covenant’ between the British Government and the Armed Forces has been sadly neglected over the last few decades if not longer.
No one does it better than the Brits- I’m a proud former US Army soldier,and all I can do is tip my cap and say well done to the UK’s finest!!!

The incredible fact not mentioned was that the parade returning to Buck House from the Abbey was started by one command relayed across 4,000 people who all stepped out at the same time, on the same drumbeat and the bands even playing the same music all the way down the parade.
The scale of that precision is just outstanding and certainly worth replaying the BBC broadcast.

I loved every minute of the Coronation today but watching the incredible prescision of the Forces marching, playing their instruments and amassing in the garden of BP afterwards was my favourite part. And those amazing, beautiful horses!!! Congratulations to all involved 😊

Only British troops can travel on the London underground and still look impeccable, everyone involved in the coronation was amazing and the salute in the garden just blew me away! no one does it like the British armed forces.

Did us all proud guys, you are amazing, shout out to the R.A.F. for their impeccable marching for me grandad (wish he was alive to see it, he used march Edward Heath to Royal events, he was on point constantly) and The Royal Marines for his ancestors, so proud. Military display of precision was quite astonishing how did they start in that way on the parade back to BP! Truly, magnificent!

I felt sorry for the Police, being there and not seeing any of the parade as they were looking the other way.
The police are always 'looking the other way' nowadays. I feel sorry for the citizens that went without effective policing on account of this charade.

Lovely to see the RAF flyover as the French Flag, to reiterate His Majesties enduring claim to that throne. Bold of the new King.

Wish they showed more of the Armed Forces & the bands in the broadcasts.......someone explain to me why there was no horse manure in the streets..there were certainly enough horses for some of them to need relief!
Following the procession there were several sweeper trucks. Whilst the coronation occurred there were also teams from Westminster council cleaning up the roads further.
Yeah the street sweepers provided much entertainment for the spectators watching from The Mall during the service.
